Descripción
La Selection Aimez Moi by Caron is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2013, this composition was created by perfumer Dominique Ropion. Its top notes of violet leaf, star anise, mint, cardamom and bergamot give way to a heart of iris, peach, magnolia, rose and jasmine, while the base settles on vanilla, musk, amber, sandalwood and woody notes.

Caron is that historic house from 1904, the very definition of niche, boasting classic masterpieces and timeless creations such as the legendary Pour un homme or Aimez-Moi by Dominique Ropion, which is undoubtedly my favourite of the brand (though I have many more to try). This 1996 fragrance returned in the ‘La Selection’ collection of 2013-2014 under the direction of Richard Fraysse, who led the house for several years, and today Caron counts Jean Jacques as its main nose, alongside exquisite redesigned bottles. Speaking of Aimez-Moi: it opens with a fresh, mature, and juicy bergamot top note that accompanies a delicious violet accord, almost like violet-flavoured sweets, until gradually hints of anise emerge, becoming the leading note alongside the violet (with all due respect to my beloved Lolita Lempicka, it is the most beautiful anise scent I have ever tried). It is a delicate anise, lightly dusted with iris and ionona, and after some time, fresh minty sparkles appear; were it not for Ropion’s mastery, that mint would have been a disaster, but here it blends beautifully with the preceding notes to give a gentle breath of freshness without the fruity sweetness of peach, a velvety gardenia, and a nearly transparent caramelised amber saturating the composition. It is a precious, exquisitely executed fragrance that conveys cheerfulness, perfect for the winter-to-spring transition thanks to its warm contrast, yet I would wear it all year round. I highly recommend it, and even more so if you can find the original version, as it has fewer green facets and focuses more on that wonderful anise and violet note.
