Tabac Blond sparked the fragrance trend of the 1920s with that free, dreamy, androgynous and rebellious woman seeking escape from boring roses. She took refuge in tobacco, leather, vanilla and sandalwood/patchouli, something consumers craved and which other brands would later copy. It’s that blend of leather and vanilla with a hint of tobacco; before smoking was considered supremely elegant. Perhaps it inspired Habanita and Cuir de Russie, though all three share much in common, Tabac Blond is the one that respects the leather most. It’s a masterpiece that set a trend and continues to do so.
