Descripción
Xerjoff Malesia is an oriental woody fragrance for men and women. The nose behind this creation is Chris Maurice. The top notes are lily of the valley or muguet; the heart notes combine amber and Gurjum balsam; while the base notes reveal an evocative blend of Laotian oud, Tolu balsam, labdanum, vanilla, musk and tonka bean.

Another review from Jxtaperfumes where I show you the fragrance live. Upon smelling the atomiser it smells of very subtle sweet wood but with the quality Xerjoff deserves. To everyone’s surprise the opening is floral and fresh but within four seconds the woods and amber take over. It’s a damp wood wrapped in amber which gives it sensuality and prevents it from being dry; a brilliant move that makes it versatile. I imagine a felled tree trunk after a storm wrapped in a layer of vanilla-infused amber: it’s mature provocative and sensual. Over time balsamic notes appear a light vanilla and the oud which is very well settled and provides support for everything. It’s not sweet nor dry; Malesia balances woods balsamics and those sweet tints of amber and vanilla making it more versatile than it appears. A key detail: it always gives a sensation of dampness like a damp wine cork (without the smell of wine). In summary if you like realistic woods with sweet notes that embrace them this is for you. It’s not very strong it doesn’t project nor leave an imposing trail but it is long-lasting and intimate. If someone greets you with two kisses they’ll surely ask what you’re wearing; it gives elegance and exclusivity.
Another review from Jxtaperfumes. I atomise the fragrance so you can see how Malesia by Xerjoff evolves live. Upon smelling the atomiser it smells of very subtle sweet wood but promises a quality worthy of the house. To everyone’s surprise the opening is floral and seems like it will be fresh but within four seconds the woods and amber take over. It’s a damp wood wrapped in amber which gives it sensuality and removes the dryness; a move that makes it versatile. It brings to mind a felled tree trunk after a storm wrapped in a layer of vanilla-infused amber; it’s a mature and provocative scent that evokes sensuality. After some time balsamic notes appear a light vanilla and the oud rare to notice but very well settled providing support for everything. It’s not sweet nor completely dry; Malesia balances woods balsamics and sweet tints of amber and vanilla making it more versatile than it appears. A key detail: it always gives a sensation of dampness like a damp wine cork (without the smell of wine) but rather the sensation of a wet cork. In summary if you like realistic woods and fragrances that tame those woods with sweetness this is for you. It’s not very strong it doesn’t project nor leave an imposing trail but it is long-lasting and intimate. If someone greets you with two kisses they’ll surely ask what you’re wearing; you’ll make an impression of elegance and exclusivity.
Of all the Xerjoff fragrances I’ve tried this is the one that has delighted and surprised me the most. It begins with a deceptive floral freshness that smells lovely when dry. The flowers only open the door for a few minutes… and then the theme changes. Soon you realise what’s to come: a scent heavy with woods and amber very different from what I usually wear. It’s not dry or coarse. Starting from the premise of woods and amber there is something in the overall composition that transports you to a damp context without being unpleasant; it’s comforting creamy and full of personality. I may be ignorant when it comes to perfumery but the movie is novel. It’s deep it offers shelter a strange sensation that tells a story. Very much for personal enjoyment and still wearable. It’s more serious than formal nocturnal and with notable longevity. A great fragrance without a doubt I’ve truly been won over.
