About Mandarin Exotic
Mandarin Exotic by House of Dreams: A Zesty Citrus Gourmand
Launched in 2025, Mandarin Exotic is a new unisex fragrance from House of Dreams that blends juicy citrus with a sweet, gourmand twist. It sits within the Citrus Gourmand family, offering a playful yet sophisticated scent experience.
The composition opens with exotic fruits, mandarin, and passion fruit, leading to a heart of orange blossom and jasmine, while a base of brown sugar, ambergris, and oakmoss adds warmth and depth.
The opening is a burst of tangy mandarin and passion fruit, immediately refreshing and invigorating. The exotic fruit accord adds a tropical vibe that feels both sunny and carefree.
As it settles, the heart reveals a delicate floral bouquet of orange blossom and jasmine, softening the citrus edge with a powdery, slightly sweet nuance. This transition is smooth, though the florals remain subtle.
The base introduces brown sugar, which lends a caramel-like sweetness, balanced by the earthy oakmoss and the salty, animalic touch of ambergris. This combination gives the fragrance a comforting dry-down that lingers.
Performance-wise, Mandarin Exotic has moderate sillage and longevity, lasting around 4-6 hours on skin. It's best suited for daytime wear in spring and summer, though the gourmand base can carry it into cooler evenings.
While the scent is pleasant and easy to like, some users have reported that it feels a bit generic and lacks the complexity expected from a niche release. The low rating reflects mixed feedback, with some finding it too sweet or fleeting.
This fragrance will appeal to those who enjoy sweet, citrus-forward scents with a gourmand edge. It's a good choice for casual wear, office settings, or anyone looking for an accessible, unisex perfume.
Mandarin Exotic is a bright, cheerful fragrance that delivers on its juicy promise, but it may not wow seasoned perfume enthusiasts. If you love mandarin and sweet notes, it's worth a try, but manage expectations.

I can’t smell the mandarin at all; it’s super sweet, but sickly sweet. It’s so strange that the only thing my nose can smell is honey, pure honey.
