I tried Matcha Date hoping to detect the matcha, but in the end, I’ll have to look for it in Asian shops (those who truly love ceremonial grade will understand). The perfume opens with a powerful citrus burst of bergamot and mandarin, though a hint of lemon and green tea lingers in the base (though the citrus notes are definitely the stars here). It’s fresh and clean; the dry-down smells a bit odd to me, likely that woody note giving it a masculine touch, but the citrus never fades. Longevity is over 8 hours, so I’ll be enjoying this a lot in summer as citrus scents usually don’t last long for me. If you’re looking for something sweet, this isn’t for you, but if you want realistic citrus scents, especially that distinct lemon aroma, this is your perfume.
