  • I ordered a sample set from this house and, apart from this one and another, generally they haven’t impressed me much. As I mentioned with the Amber from the same house, this might add to the fact that their customer service leaves a lot to be desired: late deliveries, no returns without opening, slow automated replies, and then you get paired responses. Anyway, in the case of niche or hard-to-find fragrances, I pay special attention to this. I think small brands can afford the ‘luxury’ of having fewer customers but serving them better, although I’m not sure if this brand is actually that ‘small’; in fact, I think it’s having quite a bit of hype in the perfume world. The question is… is it deserved hype? Getting to the point: what does this smell like? Musk 12 seems refined, pleasant and elegant. Of course, one must like musk, but in my opinion it is lightyears away from NR’s, which is sharper and more synthetic. Here, the only drawback is that it is too subtle and soft, and although it accompanies you, its trail is very light. I ordered it in a large bottle because it is undoubtedly a very versatile all-rounder: it suits almost any season and time of day. You may like it more or less, but it is not a scent that will offend anyone. The florals are well worked and although they have their function, the lead is taken by the musk and vanilla, which in my opinion is more wearable, fresh and lighter than the Vanilla 28 from the same house, which becomes a bit heavy. The sandalwood is also rich, so if you like these notes, don’t hesitate to try it.

  • There are no Kayali perfumes at Sephora in my city, but a few days ago I asked and they had a sample. It was an awkward moment when the assistant asked what smelled nice, and I gave her the poker face because nothing really smells nice to me… nothing is nothing, as if I’d been splashed with water.

20/12/2023 A few days ago I tested this fragrance on blotter paper at Sephora. Its cleanliness caught my attention from the very first moment. I kept the paper and couldn’t help but take it out at times to smell it again; now I fancy trying it again. I loved how clean it smells; it’s that simple. The only downside is that it is very, very soft: it projects very little and its trail is almost non-existent. If there is any other source of smell nearby, whether another person, a tapas bar or an air freshener, you won’t perceive anything. Perhaps one needs to take a bath in it to get the most out of it. 30/12/2023 I have tried Initio’s Musk Therapy and, although it is not the same, it is that same type of fragrance: cleanliness and musk. I’m writing this here because for me, that is what falls short in Musk 12: the performance. Musk Therapy offers it in just the right measure; despite not having great projection, it is adequate, as projecting more could be counterproductive and annoying. Its longevity is medium-high; I put it on eight hours ago and I can still clearly smell it. Obviously it is much more expensive, but if you like Musk 12 and can afford Musk Therapy, it is a splendid alternative. If not, you will surely find inspirations or equivalents on sites like Similar Perfum.

  • Clean, soft, high-class and supremely elegant. It is the perfect balance between musk and vanilla; I love it. The trail is quite soft and lasts very little on the skin; after about three hours it is almost imperceptible. Apparently, it is already discontinued…

A flawless discontinued scent. Elegant and clean, want to know what pure musk smells like? This fragrance achieves that perfectly.

  • This perfume opens on my skin with lotus and jasmine, slightly sweetened by vanilla, until the sweetness gradually fades and a very clean, beautiful white musk emerges. The downside is that it does not last more than three hours on my skin. In summary, a safe blind buy: a very feminine, spring and summer scent, but with poor projection and a slightly high price.

  • If you take the Clean Reserve scent, remove the praline and the salt, and add sugar-scented dish soap, you get Musk 12. Personally, I’d much prefer the first option.

  • If you strip the praliné and salt from Clean Reserve and add detergent with sugar, you get Musk 12. Personally, I still prefer the original option.
