BENSCENTS has unveiled Musk & Cashmere, a new fragrance for women and men. Released in 2026, it belongs to the floral woody musk family and was composed by perfumer Ben Ryan Bolus, with a structure that pairs aldehydes and leather with a clean, powdery heart.
The name suggests the comfort of cashmere, and the scent does feel like wrapping yourself in a soft jumper – except the notes are all about musk, woods and amber, not cashmere itself.
The first impression is fresh and sparkling, with floral notes, a touch of leather and plenty of aldehydes. That opening gives way to a heart of musk, powder and more florals, underpinned by a clean note that brings to mind freshly laundered skin.
At the base, the musk grows deeper, supported by woody notes, leather and amber. The result is a warm, velvety trail that lasts for hours without ever becoming loud or cloying.
The accords here – powdery, musky, fresh, woody, floral, amber and aldehydic – have been carefully balanced. There’s a retro feel from the aldehydes, but the overall impression is thoroughly modern.
