  When I first smelled it, it was strong and sugary, nothing different, but I didn’t try it on skin. Yesterday I tried it on my skin and I love it: the opening is similar to Innocent by Thierry Mugler, but once it dries down, it’s much fresher and cleaner. On my skin, it lasts hours and leaves a delicious trail. It’s one of those perfumes that change quite a bit once worn; it’s neat and feminine. I love this line by Lalique. It’s a bit pricey but worth it; I got the 100ml bottle and it already keeps company with Pearls and Amethyst. Haaa, I forgot, it’s also alongside Encre Noir. None have disappointed me; I’ve received praise from everyone.

  I tested this fragrance a long time ago and have the memory of the Angel, never bought it, but perhaps if I find it online at a good price, I’ll be inspired. I like Lalique perfumes because they’re different from others, so perhaps I didn’t give it a chance because it reminded me of the Angel.

  This perfume varies so much! At first, it’s extremely strong and I don’t like the initial notes at all, but once it settles, it becomes soft, sweet, and elegant, noting a slight touch of incense. The final notes and their longevity are the best. It’s ideal for day and night in spring or autumn. After trying it for several days… Conclusion: I can’t stand it! It smells like an old lady. I’ll gift it to my grandmother, she’ll surely love it.

  Nilang is a rare wonder. I bought it blind because I’m a Lalique fan, but when I tried it, I hated it. It reminded me of the Angel EDT I own and never use because it’s overwhelming. A few days ago, I gave it another chance on my neck. What an abyssal difference! The opening wasn’t overwhelming at all, and although it reminded me of the Angel, I only recognised it 10% on my skin. Basically, due to first-quality ingredients. Here, the patchouli isn’t violent like in the Angel; in Nilang, it’s soft and blended with the sweet notes and peach/melon. There’s a creamy floral and sweet accompaniment from the amber. The longevity surpasses any Lalique I own: over 20 hours on skin. My partner loved it; perhaps it’s not my favourite, but it’s clear it suits her well. I give it a 10. PS: after 8 hours, the dry-down turns slightly masculine.

  I gifted the NILANG by Lalique recently and they lent it to me to try. It gathers classic feminine essences: fruity flowers, citrus, and floral fruits, all well-assembled and cheerful. Although the inspiration is the lotus flower, this intense and sensual perfume has nothing to do with Buddha. It’s an aquatic-floral recreation based on ionones and notes like patchouli and benzoin. The name NILANG is mysterious: a Tibetan prefecture, a Tagalog pronoun, or an Indian first name. I think it was chosen for its exotic sound. It opens with a citrus burst of tangerine and a potent white musk that shouts joy and summer. Quick, the peach tints the citrus with sweet intensity, risking being too heady, but the fruitchouli aromas don’t give up: berries, jasmine, and freesia overwhelm with their potency. It’s a fruitchouli of quality and substance. Its family is Floral Fruity, with excesses of pear, peach, and apricot that can be overwhelming. The peak lasts half an hour, then settles into a floral-citrus accord with a cushioned base of sandalwood, patchouli, vanilla, and a touch of ambroxan, perhaps slightly sharp. Moderate trail but good longevity. You have to dose it, as it can be overwhelming at first. It’s not overly original, but it meets expectations, especially for women who love the floral-fruity combo without getting sickly sweet.

  I tried it and, as usual, the clove takes over. It transported me to an old pharmacy with paper sachets and natural remedies; a blend of spices and herbs. On my skin, if there’s incense, cardamom, or clove, that’s all that remains. What a pity, as I was hoping for more.
