Divine. It opens with a powerful soapy blast before giving way to a wealth of herbs: lemon verbena, rosemary, juniper… It’s like walking up a sunny slope of the Mediterranean mountains where lavenders, rosemary and verbenas grow everywhere by the roadside. The breeze of firs and other conifers completes the picture. As evening falls and the sun sets, something dark and mysterious emerges from the oil. A deep, honeyed amber, wood and sandalwood blend together to create an herbaceous fragrance that is rich and abundant. It’s not hyper-feminine, it has no sugary notes, it doesn’t smell like sweets or cloying, sugar-drenched floral bouquets. Yet, the men in my family praise it. It’s unisex, luxurious, and I feel it’s of better quality than many outrageously priced alternatives… It’s a true exotic gem.
