A deep-sea fragrance, not aquatic or fresh, more in the style of Megamare. It’s a vast ocean, but I imagine it calm at dawn. The violet is very prominent, creating that synesthesia Sorcinelli seeks. It’s a violet sea you imagine with your nose. Perhaps it’s not as original as some of Filippo’s other scents, but it’s incredibly well-made. Good projection and longevity as always, totally unisex and suited for mild to warm weather.

The opening smells odd and irritating; the violet and resin blend just doesn’t work, it feels like a failed Oriza Legrand. Then the iris and aquatic notes take over, but they don’t fix anything. The cascalone is an improved version of calone, that molecule used for marine scents, but to me it still feels synthetic and far from reality. If they’d added some ambergris, perhaps it would have worked better. In the end, it smells of iris, violet, and loads of synthetic water. One of the worst of 2025.
