Old School by Bujairami: A Unisex Woody-Spicy Scent

Old School is the latest fragrance from Bujairami, composed by Adam Bujairami and launched in 2026. The house describes it as a woody-spicy scent for men and women.

The name may look backwards, but the blend itself feels fresh and contemporary, with warm spices, florals and earthy base notes.

At the top, pink pepper, cardamom and ginger make for a lively, aromatic opening with a gentle spicy warmth.

The heart is all about sambac jasmine, Hedione and iris. These ingredients create a white floral effect that is clean, airy and faintly powdery, giving the spices a softer edge.

On the drydown, cinnamon, vetiver and moss take over. The fragrance turns earthy, woody and mossy, while the cinnamon keeps the warmth going and the vetiver provides structure.

Bujairami lists warm spicy, earthy, woody, fresh, aromatic, floral, white floral, mossy, iris and cinnamon among its accords. That is quite a broad vocabulary for a perfume that aims to be a modern classic.

Because it’s a new release, only two reviews are available so far. Old School currently rates 1.0 out of 5 — not a strong start, but too small a sample to treat as the final word.

This will suit those who enjoy unisex perfumes with a woody-spicy backbone and a delicate floral lift. It is also one for anyone keen to try Bujairami's work.

Old School has a clear identity and a thoughtfully built pyramid. The current rating is off-putting, but it comes from just two votes. If you like the sound of iris, vetiver and cinnamon, test it for yourself.
