Youthful, fresh and persistent, it reminds me of warm summer holidays.
I’m very sorry it’s no longer available, and even more so that I couldn’t buy it back then. Now there’s a new version with a different bottle that compares neither in quality nor beauty. To my nose, it’s one of the greenest I’ve ever smelled. It smells of a humid forest, with its mosses and woods… yes, the moss in Parfum d’ete is fresh and green. When I smell it, I feel surrounded by green, heat and humidity… fascinating. Its longevity is very good and the dry-down with a touch of amber is exquisite and comforting. I disagree with eugeniadupont (perhaps they were thinking of the new version?); I don’t see it as youthful. Yesterday I watched the film Epic, about a society protecting forests with ‘leaf men’ warriors and a queen in a green and white vegetal outfit… and I immediately thought of this fragrance.
It’s like being in a humid jungle, without being overwhelming, very green and lovely. I’ve just rescued it. For me, it has no age; of course, some find it a bit heavy, but it has excellent longevity and a little goes a long way.
A very green fragrance; I agree it reminds me of the jungle, very humid and rich. What a pity it’s discontinued.
Kenzo d’ete is a very interesting floral. From the first time I tried it, I’ve always liked it. It’s that kind of floral that captivates you through its humility and simplicity, with no pretensions or desire to attract attention. Its authenticity and naturalness place it above many others. While green notes usually dry out for me, here they seem juicy and sweet. The wood, moss, peach, greens and flowers are balanced in harmony; none dominates, all contribute to make it complex yet simple. Although they smell different, for me Diorissimo, Fleurissimo and Kenzo d’ete show the same floral concept: natural, subtle but with personality and good longevity. It’s one of the florals I use most for everyday wear, extremely versatile.
Another Kenzo fragrance that should never have been discontinued. I remember it as floral and fresh, like a field of flowers after a storm.
The name says it all: a summer perfume. It smells exactly like what you want to feel in those months, fresh and light. It’s an ‘easy’ fragrance, uncomplicated. I wouldn’t buy it now as it’s not my style, but I know many people who would enjoy it.
A fresh, beautiful green floral. It brings back memories of rain-soaked jasmine. I’ve gone through entire bottles; it was my teenage perfume. Loved Kenzo, loved the memories.
Beautiful fresh floral and green scent, smelling of rain-soaked jasmine. I’ve used up many bottles; this was my teenage perfume. Loved Kenzo, loved the memories.
Green, summery and pure freshness. It’s a rich perfume with excellent longevity on the skin, soft yet intense. What a shame it’s no longer available; classics like this shouldn’t be discontinued.
Summer aroma, green and fresh! I loved everything: the scent, the beautiful bottle and its lasting power. Why did they take it away? The new version has been out for years and I don’t like it at all. The smell is similar but I don’t like it, and even less the basic, uncomfortable bottle. What a shame!
I absolutely love this fragrance: freshly cut green leaves, a Christmas tree scent, and a touch of jasmine with wet earth. Very fresh and brilliant. The bottle is gorgeous, thick, and detailed, featuring a bubble that looks like a water droplet on a leaf. It lasts a moderate amount on skin but is very long-lasting and intense on clothes. Removing it from the catalogue was a mistake. Best regards 🙂
Fragrance of freshly cut green leaves, Christmas tree aroma, jasmine and wet earth. Very fresh and pleasant. The bottle is nice, thick and detailed, with a bubble that looks like a water droplet on the leaf. It doesn’t last long on skin, but it’s very durable on clothes. Discontinuing it was a mistake.
It should be back already!!!
Without a doubt, my favourite perfume. I had it when it first came out, probably in 93 or 94. I loved this perfume; it has everything people say it does, but for me, it’s simply UNIQUE. PLEASE, KENZO, BRING IT BACK!
Today I was looking for perfume and found this hidden gem in a variety store. I didn’t hesitate to buy it; it’s 30 ml that I’ll keep carefully. It’s the best example of herbal floral: green notes, flowers and woods, like a summer garden with dew. Fresh, floral and with a slight earthy touch. It’s potent, intense and has good longevity and sillage, very typical of the 90s.
I don’t know how long I’ve missed this wonder. I discovered it in the 90s because my French teacher wore it. They discontinued it and it hurt me deeply, not just because of the scent but because I lost memories of my youth. Today in the duty-free in Athens, I saw a Korres with similar notes and it was almost identical to Kenzo. I bought two bottles. Thank you, Greece, for giving it back to me.
What more could I miss about this wonderful perfume! I discovered it in the 90s with my French teacher. When it was discontinued, I felt immense sadness, not just for the fragrance but for the youthful memories. Today in Athens, at the duty-free, I spotted a Korres bottle almost identical to it. I brought two bottles home. Thank you, Greece, for giving me so much back.
Lovely memories with this perfume. I adored its huge, opaque glass bottle with a thick leaf that kept the scent fresh, green and floral, highlighting the lily. Before this, I only used my mother’s, but since then, my dressing table has never been without perfume.
My mother’s perfume! It was a floral explosion of jasmine that then softened, leaving a wonderful trail. Citrus and floral, it smells like beer! Sounds strange, but it was elegant and unique. Wherever she went, everyone asked what she was wearing. It was a 10.
Quarantines are terrible for thinking about old loves. And I did. I fell, hard. I searched online for my first love, Kenzo Parfum d’ete, and there it was. I didn’t know whether to trust the photo on that website or if the same chemistry would still exist, but call me reckless, I clicked buy as if there were no tomorrow. And finally, it arrived at my door. And the sparks flew again. What an emotion to apply it and run once more through the paths of the forests of my village at fifteen, smoking a cigarette in secret with my cousins, sheltering from the rain, watching the moss grow and thinking about those summer boys who were never as handsome as they are in our memory. All blended into this scent of green, resin, wood, flowering plants and wet stems, organic, whose aroma lingered for weeks on my denim jacket, and the idea of not recognising any artificial scent beyond that of sweets and candies. What can I say, I still like to run from time to time among the trees, and yes, we are still one for the other.
My first great love, a 90s classic. Floral, fresh, and with just the right amount of sweetness, it lasted all day. Rest in peace, Kenzo, and thank you for this perfume.
My all-time favourite perfume! A true 90s classic, floral and refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness. It lasted all day. What a shame Kenzo has gone; thank you for this icon.
Eternal tribute to Kenzo, who passed away today at 81. D’Été is one of his most beautiful and unforgettable fragrances.
Forties are terrible for thinking about old loves. I searched for my first love, Kenzo Parfum D’Ete, online. I didn’t know whether to trust the photo or if the chemistry still held, but I took the plunge. It arrived at my door and the sparks flew again. What emotion to apply it and run again through the woods of my fifteen years, smoking secretly with my cousins in the rain, watching the moss grow and thinking about those summer boys who were never as handsome as in memory. All blended into that green, resinous, woody, floral and wet-stem organic scent that lasted weeks on my jacket and made me reject any artificial aroma except that of sweets. I still run among the trees from time to time and yes, we’re still one for the other.
A perfume with much appreciation and admiration. It has one of the most original designs I’ve seen; it’s unpretentious and very grateful. It’s transparent, subtle and persistent. It doesn’t let you forget, imprinting that fresh, sharp and original mood for hours, so typical of Kenzo.
Oh God, how I wish it would return! It’s unique, there’s nothing like Kenzo D’ete. It was love at first sight, and being demanding about perfumes, this one took my breath away. I can’t describe it; it’s ultra-feminine and spectacular. I hope Kenzo reconsiders the original formula and bottle. My perfume of choice, the best of the best.
I loved this perfume! I want nostalgia and for it to return. Its notes were delicious: floral, fresh and herbal on my skin, lasting all day. Its bottle was a gorgeous glass leaf. Thanks Kenzo.
Marvellous perfume with incredible sillage. Everything was beautiful: the bottle was a work of art as was the scent. I regret not having kept it as a memento. The new version is incomparable; I loved it and I long for it.
Summer, fresh, with a rich floral punch. It had incredible sillage and longevity; the scent was unbeatable for summer. I miss it so much because they reformulated it, changed the bottle and box; everything dropped in quality and emotional value. It was a proper perfumazo in the 90s.
I love it. I have the bottle with a little perfume left, though the scent isn’t quite the same after time has passed; I don’t mind. That beautiful aroma still shines through, nothing like the perfumes of the 90s.
When I was little, I smelled this perfume and it was etched into my memory forever. Now I’ve ordered it and I’m anxious to receive it to see how it smells after all these years.
I adore this fragrance and that bottle is divine.
What a crime to stop this fragrance; only those who wore it know what the reformulation lost: half the essences and that peach note that made it unique. It brings back memories of my adolescence and happiness. They should relaunch it, even if limited, because so many of us love and miss it.
