Jean Claude Delville is a highly respected perfumer in the fragrance industry, known for his innovative creations and for his unique sense of creativity. Born in Paris, France, he began his career in perfumery at the age of 17. His passion for combining colours, musical notes and floral arrangements led him to pursue a career in this field.
Jean Claude has worked for many prestigious fragrance houses throughout his career, including Quest, Creations Aromatiques, IFF, Firmenich, Symrise and Drom. He has created numerous fragrances for well-known fashion houses such as Jean Couturier, Gres, Givenchy, Kenzo, Marc Jacobs, Jo Malone and Vera Wang. His creation of Clinique Happy in 1998 was so successful that it entered the Fragrance Foundation Hall of Fame in 2014.
Despite his success, Jean Claude remains humble and grounded. He credits his love of travel and exploration for the development of his unique perspective and his inspiration to create fragrances that capture the essence of different cultures and experiences. New York City, where he currently lives, has become his creative haven and the place where he feels most free to design.
In 2017, Jean Claude co-founded The Society of Scent, an innovative digital platform dedicated to the culture of aroma with its own laboratory located in the south of the Bronx. He continues to push the boundaries of perfumery and aspires to create fragrances that evoke emotions and tell a unique story. He considers himself fortunate to do what he loves and hopes to continue designing very special fragrances for many years.
