Kenzo World by Kenzo

Bought it for the bottle; seemed novel and I finished it by force, even though I didn’t like it. No one mentioned its scent initially—it was as if they weren’t wearing perfume until I remembered now, and it gives me nausea. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Original, nocturnal and fresh, without being too intense. Moderate projection; I was complimented a couple of times, but it doesn’t last on the skin at all—no more than about three hours.

Where is the Egyptian jasmine? I can’t find it 🤔. The fragrance is lovely and stands out in my collection: it opens with a ton of sweet, sparkling red fruits. Then I detect cucumber, yes, unusual but interesting. The ambroxan doesn’t bother me; in fact, I like it, so I went for it. The peony is in the dry-down with that undisclosed cucumber. Finally, it’s sweet and soft, smelling like those Yapa caramel sweets sold here. I like it! Not groundbreaking, but an interesting proposal; give it a try. It fills you with energy and good humour. P.S.: I’ll stick with the Intense version a thousand times; that one is truly beautiful.

I’m sorry… but I couldn’t handle this perfume. It’s curious because almost at the end of the bottle, I made more sprays and could identify those notes of red fruits and flowers… But it was around 12 degrees. With this I mean that this perfume, which I considered for spring/summer, is nothing like that. It’s for temperate climates, not cold ones, as below 10 degrees, the cold swallows it whole. I’ve never tolerated its opening or evolution. I’ve been in perfumery for three years and my nose doesn’t tolerate extremely heavy musks or large doses of amber/ambroxan; my sense of smell ignores them. So Kenzo World was a bomb of heavy artificial musk with a faint floral note. It disappeared from my nose within the hour, and although others ‘chuffed’ the scent, what’s the point if I don’t enjoy it? It cost me to finish the bottle; with those I don’t like, they last forever, and with those I adore, they evaporate like water. I must highlight that it’s original; I haven’t smelled anything similar, perhaps the only resemblance is the musk in Red Heart V.3. Perhaps in the future, where my sense of smell evolves, this Kenzo World will return. It’s worth noting that its commercial and advertising seem extraordinary; I bought it only for that. If you’re like me and couldn’t handle this work by Francis, go for Kenzo World Intense or its sibling Kenzo World Power, which is a lovely summery treat. I own both Kenzo World and World Intense, both in parfum form, but I don’t perceive any difference. Has anyone done this and can you tell me? Thanks

My husband gifted this to me and he nailed it 100% – I tested it in-store and absolutely loved it. At first, I was unsure how it would sit on my skin, but the truth is, every time I wear it, I’m showered with compliments. It lasts forever; I think it has great chemistry with my pH, so I adore feeling this way, and it smells wonderful on others too. It’s perfect for winter, autumn, spring, or cool summer days, day or night – truly versatile. It suits the office or for being sensual with your partner. It makes a statement and has real personality. While everyone chooses what they like, this is for someone with a strong character who carries the world on their shoulders; nothing submissive. The name World invites just such women. If you’re interested in a dupe, Kosiuko Shine Gold is identical and comes in at a tenth of the price of Kenzo World.

I’d been wanting to try this for ages and finally managed to grab it in a shop, but to be honest, it was a letdown. Not because of the scent, which I found exquisite, clean, and incredibly potent; I kept smelling my wrist non-stop, and it was noticeable even from a distance. The issue was longevity: I applied it at 1:30 PM and by 4:30 PM there was nothing left, despite two generous sprays. In short, I wouldn’t buy it again. I’ve tried other brands that claim poor longevity, like Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, which last a bit longer and cost a fifth of the price. It’s a shame because while it lasted, I absolutely loved it.

I’m a huge fan of Francis Kurkdjian perfumes and anything by Kenzo. I tested it in Paris just before it arrived in the UK and brought it back as a souvenir. It’s a delight for the senses. I’d buy it a thousand times over.

I bought this by mistake. Before the pandemic, I’d heard the whole Kenzo World collection in a perfumery and was certain this was the version I liked, so I ordered it online relying on a vague memory, and it was totally wrong. It’s strong after three sprays and makes you dizzy; it has an uncommon, somewhat masculine scent. It’s no option in warm climates, but I wore it on a trip to New York and it worked superbly, lasting a long time with a lovely trail. It’s definitely not suitable for summer; it develops much better in cooler weather.

It’s a very special aroma, certainly not for everyone’s taste. It has something that makes you love it or hate it. I like it. The longevity is good and the bottle is beautiful.

I read the reviews and noticed they vary greatly, so I dug out some old samples to refresh my memory. Indeed, World on my skin feels incomplete and dark; I don’t sense the florals, and the base is too intense, arriving quickly without allowing me to enjoy the heart notes. The dry-down is very volatile. I don’t dislike it, but it sounds indefinite and muted; it’s not the best of Kenzo, and I’d hardly buy it when there are better options at the same price.

I tried it in summer and the opening smelled fresh and clean, very pleasant (not flat), reminding me of Geronimo Stilton’s book of smells in the land of fairies, a very special scent. It seemed like a good summer perfume due to its sweetness and freshness, but once on the skin, it quickly became powdery and floral, losing that sparkling touch that had so appealed to me. The longevity seems good, and the dry-down still smells hours later. As it is available in many perfumeries, I recommend trying it before buying blindly.

I tried it again almost a year later and my nose has evolved… and as always, this is cheap and cheerful yet fresh, a scent I’ve already perceived in fragrances like Mon Paris and Olympea Legend, all fresh. I stick with Legend because it is soft and warm; I’m not a fan of fresh scents like this one because they technically cool my nose, especially now in winter. Perhaps it would suit spring better when it feels less fresh. I remember it was one of my favourites, the lovely Kenzo World.

It is quite masculine, suitable for a teenager. After a few hours on my skin, it seems I am smelling saliva, horrible!

Finally! They lowered the price and I could get it. It is a very rich perfume but has something that bothers me. It is versatile, sweet but not cloying, appropriate for intermediate seasons. I tried it in summer and found it a bit strong; it is more for afternoons and evenings; I haven’t tried it in winter yet. The opening is intense but calms down by the hour, remaining moderate and soft, very pleasant, with quite good longevity. I liked it and have now completed the trio; I only lack the yellow one for the quartet. Edit: I couldn’t stand the strong ambroxan in this EDP at the point of sale.
