About Persephone’s Rose
Persephone’s Rose: The New Floral from Pictura Fragrans
Pictura Fragrans has unveiled Persephone’s Rose, a new floral fragrance for men and women, set for release in 2026. The composition is by perfumer DL Jenkins.
Blending a zesty citrus top, a rose-led heart and a warm, smoky base, this is a contemporary take on a timeless flower.
Persephone’s Rose sits within the floral olfactory family, yet its construction is anything but conventional. Opening notes of sudachi, violet leaves, pomegranate and Brazilian rosewood deliver a bright, slightly tart start.
The heart is rose-forward in every sense: rose water, rose leaf, geranium and China rose. Orange marmalade and blackcurrants lend a fruity, jammy nuance that complements the floral richness.
At the base, materials take an unexpected turn: ambrettolide, wild celery root, rose thorn, paradisone, Ambrostar™, feathers, hemlock, amyris wood and smoke. Together they form an earthy, warm and spicy trail with a subtle animalic undercurrent.
DL Jenkins, the nose behind the fragrance, has created a movement from vivid citrus to shadowy smoke. The accords include citrus, aromatic, powdery, earthy, warm spicy, green, animalic and ozonic, showing a broad and nuanced palette.
Since its 2026 launch, the fragrance has received an average rating of 4.0 out of 5 from two ratings. A promising beginning for a scent that reveals itself slowly.
Perfect for those who enjoy a unisex rose with character – fresh, spicy and vaguely smoky. Also great for admirers of unusual materials such as Ambrostar™ and smoke.
Ultimately, Persephone’s Rose is a fascinating floral that walks the line between light and dark. It offers a modern, characterful alternative to classic rose perfumes.
