Descripción

Trussardi Primo is an aromatic fougère fragrance for men. This creation, launched in 2024, is a new addition to the collection. The nose behind this composition is Violaine Collas. The top notes reveal maple syrup, lava, mineral notes and grapefruit; the heart unfolds tonka bean, Jamaican pepper and bourbon geranium; while the base notes settle on sandalwood, patchouli and cedar.

  • I’ve just bought it and I absolutely love it. It’s intense and creative, nothing like other men’s fragrances; it’s inspired by nature. This EDP has a modern, innovative entity that springs from primordial roots. The top notes are mysterious and seductive, the heart is intense and explosive, while the base marks the singularity of an exclusive fragrance that, for me, defines the essence of a contemporary man. TRUSSARDI PRIMO has an overwhelming force that invites others, lifts the mood by blending sensations. Masculinity mixes with the house’s elegance, but sensuality is at its peak: it’s fire, a fiery, spicy fire that propels you much further than you thought possible. Even if you don’t think so.

  • Intense and powerful with a strong personality. To me, it smells of licorice at first, then explodes like lava. I’m sure it reminds me of Xeryus Rouge, probably due to the black pepper. Recommended.

  • I’ll go into a bit more detail, sorry. I just bought it after testing it for weeks and it’s incredible. From the bottle, with its magnetic cap and a super-soft spray nozzle (could be in my top 5), but I won’t describe the liquid here with those peculiar notes. It’s one of the few I can guarantee isn’t unisex in the strict sense; I don’t know if it will suit some women well or not, but for me? For mature men, with hair on their chest and grey where the sun doesn’t shine. It’s a Fahrenheit of the 21st century (and I’m not referring to the Parfum, which I adore and was a special gift), something similar yet different, modernised. Scent: mineral notes, sweetness, lava (lava?) at the start, a heart with that pepper, geranium and tonka bean (which is honestly ideal) giving a woody dry-down… wait for the dry-down, please. Neither my partner nor my mother like the opening (I like it in all phases), but if you wait 2-3 hours, the true heart emerges and it seems like another fragrance altogether. It’s not common; I mentioned Fahrenheit before and it’s an important name, imagine this fragrance without the ‘petrol’ note, the mandarin, or that very 80s leather; it has similar notes like patchouli, tonka bean, that freshness (which is good, it’s not geranium but it has it), and the leather notes for me go well with the minerals in this Trussardi. If you like Dior, you’ll probably like this. I swear on the most sacred things that it also reminds me of Kenzo Homme Parfum, but without that salty/oceanic note; one ideal for summer nights and the other for autumn-winter. Longevity: with 5 sprays in the shop (1 on the nape, 2 on the neck and 2 on the wrists) from 17:40 to 23:00, I can still smell it wonderfully in its dry-down; I’m not ruling out buying a decant to reapply, though I haven’t moisturised properly and I already had another scent on… Sillage: 1.5 metres, doesn’t sound like much, but it’s an ‘intimate’ fragrance, for personal enjoyment or close dinners/ambience; be careful in the car, it causes a lot of fatigue. Is it worth it? I bought it for under 55 euros on offer at a major shop in Madrid. Yes, it’s worth it if you like scents that are unconventional yet familiar. Edition: I slept without washing my wrists to check the longevity… I can still smell it when I press my nose against my skin. I’ll test it more thoroughly today. It’s a scent that not everyone understands and isn’t for everyone. The sweet fragrances are to blame, as we’ve become accustomed to smells like JPG Elixir, Most Wanted by Azzaro, or one I really like, Valentino Born in Roma, which, well, shares notes, is sweet.

  • I tried it on a tester and the opening put me off: a potent bitter licorice smell that my mind associated with an older person (although I’m already of age). Then, as it dries, it becomes a bit more friendly and ‘enjoyable’, although I still don’t like it, I understand it may suit others. It doesn’t resemble Scent Elixir, Scandal, or The Most Wanted in any way; the ‘reminds me of’ votes are random and far from reality.

  • I’ll just say I loved it. It’s not one of the sweet, fruity, or caramel trends. It’s normal for Trussardi, an Italian luxury house with a good reputation and unique, irrepetible, and incomparable fragrances, with a faithful public. The negative reviews don’t harm it, because it has the strength of a volcano that doesn’t kill the reviewer. Everyone complains that nothing new comes out; here they have one. Trussardi is very its own and doesn’t do advertising. I’ve had many compliments; a 30-year-old Italian man asked me what I was wearing on a terrace with poor projection. Longevity is 10. I like it a lot. It’s totally novel and outside of what is sold. They asked for this a lot and here it is served on a silver platter. An inviting perfume like few others.

  • I’m going to elaborate. I bought it after testing it for weeks and it’s formidable. From the bottle, with a magnetic cap and a soft sprayer (could be in my top 5). I won’t describe what the liquid isn’t with those notes. It’s one of the few that isn’t unisex in the strict sense; I don’t know if it would suit a woman, but for me it’s for mature men, with hair on their chest and grey hair. It’s like a Fahrenheit from the 21st century (not the Parfum, which I fell in love with), but modernised. Mineral notes, sweetness, lava (lava?) in the opening, heart with pepper, geranium, and tonka bean (ideal), drying down to woodiness. Wait for the dry down. Neither my partner nor my mother likes the opening (I like everything). If you wait 2-3 hours, its heart comes out and it seems like another fragrance. It’s not common; I imagined Fahrenheit without the gasoline note, tangerine, or eighties leather, with patchouli, tonka bean, greenery, and mineral leather. If you like Dior, you’ll like it. I swear it also reminds me of Kenzo Homme Parfum, but without the salty/sea note. Ideal for summer nights and autumn-winter. Longevity: 5 sprays at 17:40, I still feel it wonderfully in its dry down at 23:00. I don’t rule out buying a decant to reapply, but I haven’t even moisturised and already had another on top. Sillage: 1.5 metres, it’s an intimate fragrance, for personal enjoyment, dinners, or the car (careful, it causes drowsiness). Is it worth it? I bought it for under 55 euros on offer in Madrid. Yes, it’s worth it if you like nothing conventional but familiar scents. Edit: I slept without washing my wrists to check longevity; I feel it sticking to my nose. I’ll test it better today. It’s a scent that not everyone understands. The fault lies with sweet fragrances, which we have got used to (JPG Elixir, Most Wanted, Valentino Born in Roma), which, well, share notes, are sweet, and familiar.

  • A wonderful marvel. I fell in love from the first day I smelled it at Druni. I didn’t buy it for the opening to burning rock or volcano, which gave a sensation of poor longevity. It’s a treat like they make those nuances. In the end, I took it because it was impossible not to. It must be one of the scents that has blown my mind this year; I’ve bought over 80 perfumes. If you like strong, challenging fragrances and want to be the ‘p’amo’, here is a modern option.

  • Psicostasis

Intriguing. They are very compact custards, but also very subtle. Phantom custards leaning towards nutty. Clearly sweet but not cloying at all. It’s a very beautiful sweet sandalwood, so polished you could look into it like a mirror. There isn’t a single stinging note, no roughness, absolutely nothing. No camphor nuances or that sparkling movement of the citrus. If anything, a floral petal that peeks out occasionally. But when you want to observe it, it integrates back into that smooth surface of ethereal sweetness. It’s like the black monolith from 2001. PS: I consider it doesn’t smell of lava because no sulphur or mineral notes are noticeable. Maybe they wanted to use the term ‘lava’ to make it clear it’s a warm fragrance. I’d recommend they be less pretentious and use intelligible terms like ‘warm accord’ instead of ‘lava accord’. Don’t worry, I’m already blown away by it as a reviewer.

PD: It doesn’t smell of lava because there’s no sulphur or minerals. Perhaps they meant to say it’s warm. I would recommend using intelligible terms like ‘warm accord’ instead of ‘lava accord’.

  • It’s like Boss The Scent Elixir but sweeter, like pastry vanilla, peppery, and with less projection. It’s worth more cheaply, but more is expected. I expected a declared lemon or grapefruit to accompany that sweetness, or perhaps something more metallic and less earthy, or more ambered. I expected a lot from such a cool bottle, but ‘meh’. It smells good, it’s not as challenging as the Cambodian oud, but it lacks something. Evolution: pepper, perhaps licorice, sandalwood, and lots of sweet and earthy. The lava note gives the sensation of warmth, but doesn’t smell of sulphur. That pepper projects for about two hours and then stays close to the skin for exactly 9 hours. In summary: a cheaper and decaffeinated alternative. As a gift, you’ll surely succeed with your nephew.

  • Review from a novice nose: with my untrained olfactory sense, I don’t catch all the nuances from other reviews. I only notice one very clear and predominant thing: the grapefruit. I’m amazed that others don’t catch it and do catch other notes, when for me it’s a ‘roaming grapefruit’ from the start until almost the end. As it dries, very slowly, I notice an intense grapefruit that ‘avainillas’, drops down, and hides behind the tonka bean and woods. But in the first two hours, that grapefruit radiates like a goat, overshadowing everything. That’s why I don’t consider it winter, but rather for shoulder seasons or informal summer nights. Yes, I notice the grapefruit as ‘heavy’, not ‘sparkling’, which could make it more suitable for cold. I see it as totally unisex.

I bought it blindly for the price ($30) and the notes; it has been a resounding success. It’s an original aroma, though it recalls sensations from Ferragamo Uomo or Azzaro TMW, especially in the sweetness. Here, there is definitely a pepper-like heat, nothing green or dissonant. Added to that sweetness which isn’t cloying, like a delicacy or dulce de leche, it gives it something very special. The modern base adds roughness and weight. I don’t smell much grapefruit or geranium, but they balance an interesting composition. I don’t know the comparables, but I hope to see more perfumes with the 3B. It’s easy to wear, ideal for cold weather, with good performance without being a beast, very versatile. The only thing is that it’s somewhat linear and the performance could be better, but it doesn’t detract from the quality. Rating: 8.5/10.

Incredible! It’s my signature. It smells different to everything I’ve tried and I’ve received many compliments; I have nothing similar in my collection. The moose syrup makes it gourmand but without being cloying, more dark, totally nocturnal and winter. The lava doesn’t smell of sulphur, but it represents that idea. The pepper has hooked me from the first minute and never lets go. The sandalwood and patchouli give it body and depth. It’s a hidden gem, niche quality that has nothing to envy from more expensive fragrances. I’ve tried Boss The Scent Elixir with pepper and this Trussardi Primo beats it a thousand times over; it smells much more crafted and harmonious.

  • INCREDIBLE. It’s my signature fragrance. Striking aroma, different from everything I’ve tried, with many compliments and nothing equal in my collection. The moose syrup makes it gourmand but without being cloying, rather dark, nocturnal, and winter-like. The ‘lava’ doesn’t smell of sulphur, but represents that warmth. The pepper has me hooked since the 5-minute mark and doesn’t leave. The sandalwood and patchouli duo give it body and depth. It’s a hidden marvel, niche quality that doesn’t envy more expensive perfumes. I’ve tried Boss The Scent Elixir, and this Trussardi Primo gives it a thousand turns: much more elaborate and harmonious.

  • I picked it up blindly for the bargain price (30 dollars) and the notes, and it’s been a total success. It smells original, though it has that sweetness that reminds me of Ferragamo Uomo or Azzaro TMW. Here you can definitely feel a kick of pepper, but without being green or weird. It adds a sweet touch, like caramel or dulce de leche, that isn’t cloying and gives it a modern, characterful weight. I notice the grapefruit and geranium little, but they serve to balance a very interesting blend. I don’t know the perfumes on the list, but I hope to see more with those 3Bs in the market. It’s easy to wear, ideal for cold weather, performs well without being a beast, very versatile. The only downside is that it’s a bit linear and could last longer, but that doesn’t stop it smelling great. Give it a try, it’s worth it. Rating: 8.5/10

  • aroma peculiar

A unique yet intense fragrance. I bought it for the notes, and being from the Canary Islands, the mention of ‘lava’ really piqued my curiosity. The opening is a heavy blow that overwhelms my senses: a metallic scent, that volcanic note, and a very bitter grapefruit. All wrapped in a constant sweet base. As it dries, it leaves a sweet, Arab, intense sensation but with a bitter and spicy touch. It’s unique, very particular, and not for everyone. My two sons (22 and 24 years old) were put off by it, smelling it as a fougere.

A unique but tough fragrance. I bought it for the listed notes. Being from the Canary Islands, seeing notes like ‘lava’ sparks intense curiosity in me. The opening is a strong blow, it saturates my olfactory senses. That metallic smell with the lava note and very bitter grapefruit is very particular. Accompanied by a sweet base that is always present. When it dries down, it leaves a sensation of sweet Arab, very sweet but bitter and slightly spicy. It’s undoubtedly a unique fragrance. But very particular. Not for everyone. To finish, I tested it with my two sons aged 22 and 24 and it put them off. As if it were a fougère.
