  What a gem! The sample arrived via Yuniqu and I loved it. Note: if you’re looking for a medicinal, intense, or even ‘faecal’ oud, this isn’t for you. The oud is there from the start, but discreet, adding that woody touch and a bit of ‘dirtiness’ from the background. The first impression is citrusy, and gradually an irresistible coconut reveals itself. That fruity and coconutty blend gives it a tropical air, like a beach lotion, but without smelling like sun cream; rather, it smells like someone wearing a potent perfume like Tom Ford’s Black Orchid, going to the beach, applying the cream, and soaking up the sun. That’s what my Nejma 7 smells like! The cacao adds a sweet touch and the patchouli blends with the oud in that woody base. The neroli adds freshness and a light floral note. In short, a very original oud. Good performance, over 8 hours on skin, moderate but constant projection. I see it as unisex, though I think it suits women more. Ideal for night or day-to-day wear in cooler seasons. Scent: 9, Longevity: 8, Projection: 7, Value: 5, Versatility: 7, Originality: 9, Overall: 9

  For a fragrance without sugar, tonka bean, caramel, or praline… it’s quite sweet. It doesn’t become heavy or cloying, but on a scale of 1 to 10, it has an 8 for sweetness. The opening is a bit citrusy, then it becomes very fruity and sweet, always accompanied by an oud that sometimes feels a bit dirty and at other times more distinguished.

  Nejma 7 Oud Line is the kind of fragrance I’d bathe in without a second thought. This beautiful fusion starts cautiously with a radiant citrus greeting, featuring bergamot and green mandarin, before turning into a tropical woody blend with coconut, neroli, and a very dosed oud. It doesn’t smell animalic or like a stable; it’s so sensual and well-blended that you’d enjoy it even if you don’t usually like oud. I detect soft hints of cacao and patchouli, while the white musk leaves a very pleasant dry-down. The trail is moderate to wide, and longevity is good, lasting over six hours on skin. It’s not overpowering, very easy to wear. It’s unisex and one of my absolute favourites from the Nejma house. A bottled dream and a cosy scent. I see it for any season.

  To me, it smells thicker and sweeter than I expected from the notes. I imagined something more summery, but it’s a creamy, sweet gourmand that is very pleasant and sensual. I wouldn’t rule it out for any time of year.
