  • Trussardi Passeggiata In Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, what a long name for a perfume. Thanks to Fina for sending me the decant so I could write this. Before trying it, I didn’t even know this collection existed. The first thing you notice is that it raises your blood sugar to crazy levels. The opening is a hazelnut cream in the Nutella style with a toasted touch, as if we’d added a bit of coffee. Gradually, a white floral heart emerges with a subtle but very present neroli. I love neroli perfumes, whether vintage, wet and green, or talc-dusted and withered. Here, the neroli seems like a topping to spread on your favourite hazelnut cream. It’s a fragrance with little evolution, but it doesn’t matter to me because it smells so natural, subtle, and delicate that it’s a pleasure to wear it all the time. Fina says it doesn’t last long, but on my skin and my partner’s, it exceeds 10 hours, with strong projection in the first three hours and a slightly heavy sillage at the start. It’s a scent that invites you to stay in with a movie, your partner, and a good blanket against the cold. That’s my favourite occasion, though I see it well on any winter or autumn day, at night, but not for parties, more for romantic dinners and close, quiet moments. I see it as more feminine, but I like it and don’t see it clashing on a man. I don’t recommend buying it blindly due to its prohibitive price; if it cost less, it would be a 100% sure bet for all gourmand fans. Do you like hazelnuts? Read this. What a lovely surprise: it starts with a strong dose of chocolate hazelnut and cinnamon, then yields without losing its essence to a milky, creamy, and buttery perfume of neroli, coconut, and white flowers over a vanilla base. The sillage is huge for the first hour, but it fades quickly to become a more intimate scent noticeable between 4 and 6 hours, after which it sits very close to the skin. I liked it quite a bit, but I’ll test it more carefully because I think I might get tired of that superlative creaminess.

To start, it smells very much like By The Fireplace: to my nose, it’s roasted hazelnut and smoky, with no coffee or cinnamon (thank you!), and the coconut is barely noticeable, adding only creaminess. What really stands out are the sweet neroli and an intense vanilla that, after half an hour, transform the smoky touch into a complete perfume. It doesn’t smell like Nutella as others claim, but if you like nuts and gourmand scents, you’ll love it. If you’re a fan of By The Fireplace, you’ll find it lovely. Note: it’s exclusive for very cold climates; in mild temperatures, it can be overwhelming. I give it 4 stars for its lack of year-round versatility. Scent: 8/10, Longevity: 9/10, Sillage: 8/10, Bottle: 7/10. Ideal for evening and night in winter.

I must say this perfume smells remarkably similar to By The Fireplace: I sense roasted and smoky hazelnuts, as if there were wood in the fire, without noticing coffee or cinnamon (thank goodness, as I don’t like cinnamon), nor much coconut, which perhaps only adds some creaminess to justify the official notes. What I do notice are the sweet neroli and a very sweet vanilla that manage to make the roasted hazelnuts lose that smoky aftertaste after half an hour and sound more like a perfume than a simple scent. To my nose, it doesn’t smell like Nutella, as others swear, but if you like nuts and gourmand scents, this is for you, and if you’re a fan of By The Fireplace, you’ll love it. Only for very cold climates; in temperate or cool weather, it becomes stifling and suffocating. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 for its lack of versatility throughout the year, as it’s difficult to use in my city’s climate. Scent: 8/10, Longevity: 9/10, Sillage: 8/10, Bottle: 7/10, Climate: intense cold, Occasions: evening and night.
