Oh, what a subtle aroma. It has three well-defined phases. The opening is a sweet citrus from the mandarin, juicy and pleasant. Then a very striking neroli appears; yes, there is jasmine and rose, but the neroli is the main protagonist, shouting ‘here I am’. The dry down is slightly woody, but without highlighting the woods, rather the flowers: NEROLI. If you like neroli, this is the one. I compare it with Michael Kors and May Way, and I have both: Quatre en Bleu shines on its own, but it leans closer to the Gucci Bloom range. Perhaps people confuse it with those others because of the neroli. The trail is low to moderate; if someone comes close, they smell lovely woody neroli. Happy with the purchase, I got it at a good price.
I bought it blindly for a good deal and because I already like Boucheron perfumes. Upon wearing it, I thought: ‘Is this Gucci Bloom?’. They are very similar. I tested it on the other hand and compared them for hours. The neroli intensity is similar, though here it is more moderate. Only when drying do I notice the difference: Quatre en Bleu becomes a clean woody scent with musky sandalwood, while Bloom retains the neroli. The longevity is good and the price is not excessive. A great option if you like Bloom-style florals, but at a lower cost.
