  • Although the notes don’t match Baccarat Rouge 540, this smells the same. They are exact copies of all the ones I’ve heard that are similar, and this takes the crown.

It made me suffer, haha. I bought it on a cyber day with a 50% discount and it never arrived. A month later, I ordered it again, at a higher price but still on offer. When it finally arrived, I thought I’d been cheated because it smelled like nothing, just alcohol and a super faint scent. I bought it for the similarity to Baccarat Rouge and because I love that line. I spent the whole day trying to smell anything and told myself: ‘it doesn’t matter anymore, I’ll use my daily scent’, which is Amber Oud Rouge, from the same line, and to my surprise… IT SMELLED LIKE NOTHING TOO! I thought it was odd or that I had COVID, so I pulled out the big gun: the only original Baccarat Rouge, and… IT STILL SMELLED LIKE NOTHING! Next to it was Guerlain’s Pear Granita, which, in my desperation, I also tried and it smelled normal. Perhaps I had saturated my nose with Baccarat-style fragrances. Today I tried it again, the Red Potion, and it smells quite good. It’s very similar to the original, the nice part, without that dentist smell that some people hate. I don’t know if it lasts or has good projection because I just applied it; at first it seems very non-intrusive. Perhaps I haven’t recovered my sense of smell yet. The best thing is undoubtedly its presentation. I don’t usually keep boxes, I have very few, but I am keeping this one because I imagine a large part of the price is for that. I’ll give it more time and come back with more. EDIT: I sold it a few months ago, it didn’t convince me entirely. Beautiful fragrance but it wasn’t what I was looking for. Really it’s not a dupe of Baccarat but something similar.

This perfume has made me suffer, haha. First I bought it on a cyber day at a very good price (approx. 50% discount) and it never arrived. A month later, I bought it again at a slightly higher price but still on discount. When it finally arrived, I thought I’d been cheated because it smelled like nothing; I could only feel the alcohol and a very, very faint scent. Obviously I bought it for the famous similarity to Baccarat and because I love all the perfumes in that line. After not smelling it for the WHOLE day trying to feel something, I told myself ‘it doesn’t matter anymore, I’ll use my daily perfume’, which is Amber Oud Rouge, also from the same line, and to my surprise… IT STILL SMELLED LIKE NOTHING! I thought it was strange and perhaps I had COVID, so I pulled out the secret weapon: the only true Baccarat Rouge, and IT STILL SMELLED LIKE NOTHING! Next to it I had Guerlain’s Pear Granita and, in my desperation, I also tried it and, to my surprise, it smelled normal. Perhaps I had saturated my nose with Baccarat-style fragrances; probably. Its opening is undoubtedly feeling as if you’ve applied BR540, which, in my opinion, is a privilege, because the latter is a true delight. I am not saturated with this DNA, because neither have I had the BR540 nor has anyone in my circle; many clones, but meh, none have that magical and addictive something of the original. Returning to Red Potion, in its mid-dry-down, the immortelle and jasmine are very predominant, it becomes quite floral, something the other doesn’t: intoxicant, creamy, extremely elegant, embraced by that BR540 base that elevates it to its maximum expression. It seems to me a composition of 10. Are you tired of BR540? I’m not😌. This has a special twist of fleshy and hypnotic flowers that gives it a more feminine and enchanting character. As for the bottle? What am I going to tell you that you haven’t appreciated? This house is wonderful, of which I have the most bottles in my collection❤️

The opening is pure BR540, a luxury that never gets old; although I’ve tried many clones, none match that addictive magic of the original. In Red Potion, the immortelle and jasmine dominate the dry-down, making it floral and intoxicant, creamy and elegant, all built upon that BR540 base that elevates it. My rating: 10/10. Tired of BR540? I’m not. It has a special twist of fleshy, hypnotic flowers that makes it more feminine and enchanting. As for the bottle? You know this house is wonderful, and I have so many of them in my collection.
