The opening is unusual but immediately appealing: bread and rice. From there, the fragrance moves into a smooth heart of almond milk and cashmere wood, before settling on a base of sandalwood and tonka bean.
Santalis sits within the oriental woody family, yet it comes across as softer and more comforting than many of its peers. The primary accords are salty and lactonic, with sweet, nutty, and musky nuances appearing throughout.
