Waooo, wonderful. It’s sweet, has presence, and you can smell the cinnamon and vanilla. Incredible sillage. It leans more towards the feminine side. If you like sweet scents, buy blind.
Obsessed with this fragrance. Normally I hate Arab perfumery (Swiss, Lattafa…) because buying blind usually means synthetic, plastic scents with a petrol smell. Here it’s 90% clean and 10% dirty at the start, which disappears quickly. It’s a gourmand book scent, but airy and ambered. Sounds contradictory, yet it’s heavy, sweet, and fresh all at once. It blends marzipan (earthy, soft, pasty) with syruped cherries and an indolic, carnal, opulent tonka bean. If you dislike almond or cherry, give it a chance; it has conquered me. If you hate sugar, run, this is sugar galore. It has presence, moderate sillage, and almost niche quality. It resembles BDK’s ‘Tonka Velvet’, but this is rougher and BDK doesn’t last as long. The turquoise box is pretty and sturdy, though it doesn’t suit it (why blue?). Swiss ships fast but without samples, and prices are rising due to YouTuber hype. They say it’s a limited edition.
My latest Arab pick: super synthetic vanilla and cherry with that ‘everyone has it’ base common in Arab fragrances. Now I understand their pricing and packaging; they spend on bottles and wooden boxes, but the scent is just a fixative and nothing more. I don’t see quality in this Oud Tonka. The BDK version must be a thousand times superior. Be warned, it has almond notes, and if the chemistry is poor-quality, it shows. In the dry-down, it reminds me of Lattafa’s Isq Al Suyuk or a Rosendo Mateu N5 clone, that baby reborn vanilla.
Oh, what a beast! I ordered a decant with great anticipation, and luckily I didn’t order the big bottle. The opening is horrid almonds, super synthetic, with a very strange plastic smell added. The dry down is slightly better, feeling vanilla-like, but that plastic trail remains. It’s an intrusive perfume, overwhelming, and doesn’t smell good. I do note a resemblance to BDK’s Velvet Tonka, but this one is much better, with less synthetic, grating almond. Still, I don’t want either of them in my collection; they are too synthetic.
It’s a sweet almond perfume, more accurate to my nose than other compositions that turn bitter. The only downside is that at first it smells a bit of plastic, perhaps a memory of a new doll. From the start, it smells strongly of almonds, with a potent base of vanilla and tonka bean that sweetens everything. After two hours, when that slight plastic effect disappears, it remains as a floral fragrance of orange blossom and roses with a trail of almond, very pleasant. It has moderate sillage and lasts about 7 hours. Compared to BDK’s Velvet Tonka, this is finer and less sweet, although the Swiss Arabian one lasts longer on my skin. Overall, it’s a nice proposal for those who like sweet perfumes and want something with almond for the cold. Scent 6.5/10, Longevity 7/10, Sillage 7/10, Value for money 7/10, Versatility 6/10, Packaging 7.5/10. Would I buy it again? I didn’t buy it.
The turquoise bottle is simply wonderful, it has weight and good design, it has me in love. The box is sober and luxurious. The perfume opens with an intoxicating explosion of almonds, I even feel their fine skin, it gives me the typical bitterness in the mouth and a slight tingling on the tongue. It doesn’t feel heavy to me, yes sweet and very intense. Like opening a box of Santiago cake, warm marzipan and syrup. Freshly applied, it projects clearly to about 50cm or more. Powdered sugar, cinnamon, a touch of vanilla are identified, and it becomes more ‘fresh’, with a green hint. The roses emerge… red or white? Very present. The amber and tonka bean are perceived, but within a juicy syrup. Half an hour later, it’s still detectable from about 30cm. The vanilla has evolved into a creamy, woody, soft, almost palatable note. The syrup softens and a deep, elegant sweet note remains. After four hours, it’s totally perceptible to me and to the people around me (one of the most complimented perfumes I’ve used recently). I think it’s very feminine (although perhaps on some male skin it could be delicious).
The turquoise bottle is simply wonderful; it has weight and excellent design, leaving me utterly enchanted. The box is understated yet luxurious. The perfume opens with an intoxicating explosion of almonds, so much so that you can almost taste its fine bitterness and a slight tingling on the tongue. It is not overpowering, but rather sweet and intense. It’s like opening a box of Santiago cake: warm, syrupy marzipan. Upon projection, it is crisp and noticeable at 50 cm. You detect powdered sugar, cinnamon, a hint of vanilla, and it becomes fresher with a touch of green. Roses emerge—red or white? They are very present. Amber and tonka bean are perceptible within a juicy syrup. Half an hour later, it is noticeable at 30 cm. The vanilla has evolved into a creamy, woody, and soft note, almost edible. The syrup softens, leaving a deep, elegant sweet note. After four hours, it is fully perceptible to me and those around me (one of the most complimented I’ve received lately). I believe it is very feminine (though perhaps on some male skin it could be delicious).
This is a sweet almond perfume, more apt to my sense of smell than other compositions around this note which result in being very bitter. The only drawback is that at first it smells somewhat of plastic, perhaps a memory of a new doll. From the start, it smells strongly of almonds with a potent background of vanilla and tonka bean that sweetens everything. After an hour, when that slight plastic effect disappears, it remains as a floral fragrance of orange blossom and roses with a faint trail of almond, truly pleasant. It has moderate sillage and lasts about seven hours. Regarding its similarity to Velvet Tonka by BDK, this is finer and less sweet, although Swiss Arabian lasts longer on my skin. Overall, a lovely proposal for lovers of sweet scents and almonds in cold seasons. Smell 6.5/10, Longevity 7/10, Sillage 7/10, Value for money 7/10, Versatility 6/10, Packaging 7.5/10. Would I buy again? I did not purchase it.
In love. I love it. I bought it blindly based on the good reviews and it hasn’t let me down. The opening almond note is the first time it’s been so clear and unmistakable. It’s sweet without being cloying.

A delightful perfume 😍
Bottled niche. For $75 you get a 200ml fragrance. It’s more feminine than masculine, but depending on your skin, it can evolve wonderfully on a man. Regarding the comments about ‘plastic’: blind words, deaf ears.

What a beautiful perfume. It’s sweet almonds, tonka bean, and has that sticky touch that I love. I’m obsessed, I enjoy it immensely, and I’ve been complimented several times. It’s one of my favourites ❤️
Very peculiar aroma at first spray: a bomb of sweet almonds with a festival of spices. The base wood stays subtle and delicate. A heart of vanilla that gives it a special touch. I’d rate it 50% feminine, 50% masculine.
I’m not sure if I like it or not. At first, I love it: natural, raw, realistic almond, like opening a ripe almond. But a few minutes later, that rich scent turns into burnt plastic. If you get close, it smells of fresh orange blossom, but that strange mix of almond and plastic ruins the experience. I don’t sense the vanilla, the rose, or anything else. It reminds me of Ishq Al Shuyukh Gold, but that plastic smell prevents you from enjoying both. In the Ishq it’s worse, stronger, smelling of burnt leather. With this one I still have hope; I’ve had it for a month and the last time it seemed less annoying, but time will tell. I know not everyone smells plastic in Arab perfumes, but for those of us who do, it’s fatal. It hasn’t happened to me with designer, niche, Zara, or Mercadona, only with Arabs (and few). Would I buy it again? No, if that strange note doesn’t disappear, it wasn’t worth the expense.
I always love Shaghaf flankers. With this one, as with Arab perfumes, you need to give it time: initially the almond note sounds artificial and shrill, nothing pleasant, but once it dries down it’s pure heaven. Of all of them, Oud Tonka is the most versatile because it removes the oud from the equation. That does reduce the projection and potency a bit, but it remains my recommendation: it’s easy to wear and has that oriental DNA that we all love.
