The opening has a bright, citrusy radiance, but that lightness soon parts to reveal a darker, leathery warmth. It’s this contrast that makes Shotai so compelling.
The top notes are a study in tension: sweet orange, blackcurrant, and lime. The orange is sugary, the blackcurrant is tart and vaguely syrupy, and the lime provides a bitter, acidic edge that keeps everything remarkably fresh.
The heart emerges as a white floral mosaic—gardenia, jasmine, and rose. The gardenia is luscious and slightly indolic, the jasmine adds a sun-soaked brightness, and the rose remains green and dewy. There’s an unexpected creaminess that smooths the blend.
