About Soleil 21
Soleil 21: A Bright Citrus Perfume With an Earthy, Smoked Finish
Aimee de Mars Parfums launches Soleil 21, a new scent for him and her, created by nose Valerie Demars. Released in 2025, it starts with a burst of bergamot, lime and orange before settling into vetiver, patchouli and charred wood.
This is not a straightforward holiday fragrance. Soleil 21 has a darker side, and that’s exactly what makes it interesting: the cheerful opening slowly gives way to something rawer, drier and more contemplative.
The opening is wonderfully crisp. Bergamot, lime and orange create a juicy, sharp hit, reinforced by citrusy, fruity and aromatic accords and a fresh spicy tingle. It’s clean but never generic.
At the centre, honeysuckle and osmanthus offer a white floral character with a fruited undertone. The two flowers keep the composition lifted just long enough before the deeper layers start to appear.
Then comes the transformation. Vetiver, earthy notes, burnt wood and patchouli form a base that is smoky, dry and grounded. The perfume moves from sunlight to burnt timber without losing its balance.
The development is gradual rather than abrupt. Fresh spicy nuances appear throughout, while the floral centre lingers beneath the surface. By the time it dries down, the earthy and woody elements are unmistakable.
Soleil 21 is a new launch for 2025, designed as a shared perfume. Valerie Demars has made a fragrance that feels optimistic on the outside and quietly intense underneath.
For anyone who wants a fresh perfume with backbone. It suits men and women who enjoy a citrus opening but prefer their base notes woody, earthy and slightly smoked. Also ideal for those who like thinking about how a scent changes during the day, because Soleil 21 never sits still.
Soleil 21 succeeds because it gives the classic citrus formula a darker, more expressive ending. The fragrance opens with light and warmth, then slips into vetiver, earth and burnt wood with real elegance. Valerie Demars adds another strong signature to the Aimee de Mars Parfums line, and it’s one worth exploring.
