  First time trying Kilian and it has left me completely baffled, genuinely puzzled. To me, these scents feel like a rip-off; I know not everyone thinks this, but that’s my opinion and I don’t want to offend anyone. It opens with a potent, very realistic and green bergamot, then gradually sweetens with vanilla, accompanied by a medicinal and balsamic edge that doesn’t stand out at all. In the end, that’s it, nothing more. Incense? Benzoin? Opoponax? Where? Ultimately, it smells of strong, very feminine bergamot; it sweetens a little but not much. It’s nice, but so much bergamot tires me out. The truth is, for this, you’d be better off buying a bergamot fragrance from any budget brand and calling it a day. Fine, the ingredients are of the highest quality and natural, yes, that’s true, but to smell of bergamot you don’t need to spend a fortune, whether it’s African, Murcian, or Indochinese bergamot. It has moderate-to-high longevity, around seven hours, and the trail is moderate and soft. I found it very feminine; I can’t see myself wearing it much or recommending it, as I’ve said, but given its qualities, I see it as very versatile for day or night in cool or temperate climates.
