  Botanicae nailed it with Taro: it’s original, invites compliments and lasts well on the skin (7-8 hours). The pineapple and saffron in the opening are beautifully executed, enhancing each other. Note: it is not a Spanish Aventus, so don’t expect that if you don’t want to be disappointed; those false expectations have led to unfair criticism. Taro is a good fragrance. If you’re looking for something similar, try Mystery Saffron by Superz Budapest, which smells of sweet citrus without mentioning pineapple and avoids forced comparisons. The heart has lovely but brief floral notes before giving way to a delicious oud and herbal patchouli. The good things, when brief, are doubly good. It’s versatile: not for formal events or sports, but suitable for the office with moderation. Ideal for spring, autumn or when it’s under 30 degrees. In summer, go for En Route by Botanicae, which vibrates similarly but lasts less (around 6 hours). Although it’s unisex and most men will want it, I encourage girls to try it; people have asked if it’s unisex because they wanted to buy it. It’s a hidden gem that deserves a chance. As always, test niche fragrances on your skin before buying; don’t rely solely on paper notes or ratings, because sometimes what matters isn’t the smell.   It’s a fruity and woody fragrance that captivates from the very first moment. The pineapple and saffron create an incredibly pleasant opening, which is then gently embraced by warm woods, keeping that fresh character. It’s a top-quality scent, totally unisex, with good longevity, although the price is a bit high.
