The Tear: Tea, Woods and Tobacco in Harmony

Santimento's The Tear is a Woody Aromatic creation for men and women, released in 2025 by perfumer Jinyu Ju.

It explores tea from different angles, set against May rose, tobacco, tonka bean and cedar.

It opens with clary sage, elm, tea leaves and buchu. The effect is green and aromatic, the sage bringing a fresh, spiced clarity while buchu underlines the herbal quality of the tea.

At the heart, May rose, fir, bergamot and black tea come forward. The rose shapes the floral character, bergamot lends a citrus lift, and fir with black tea adds a darker, resinous undertone.

The drydown features tonka bean, tobacco, green tea and cedar. Sweet, vanilla-toned and woody elements meet here, tobacco providing warmth and cedar a dry, well-defined framework.

Taken together, the composition remains firmly Woody Aromatic, balancing aromatic freshness, florals and woods with sweet, citrus, rosy and vanilla touches. A unisex scent where the green tea note connects herbal coolness with mellow tobacco.

It will suit those who enjoy unisex Woody Aromatic fragrances centred on tea and tobacco, and anyone who likes May rose presented in a green and dry manner rather than an opulent one.

The Tear presents a restrained and consistent reading of tea, wood and tobacco, faithful to the Woody Aromatic genre and to Jinyu Ju's hand.
