Descripción
Aramis Tobacco Reserve is an aromatic woody fragrance for men. Launched in 2018, this composition was created by perfumer Edouard Fléchier. Its top notes of bluebell and blackcurrant give way to a heart of tobacco leaf, nutmeg, and iris root, closing with a base of tonka bean and oakmoss.

Tobacco Reserve is pure wood with tobacco as the star. It starts rough: dry tobacco, a green touch, and even a hint of raw cinnamon that lasts for a few hours. Then it settles into a relaxed base of tonka bean. It’s for those seeking realistic tobacco; it’s not youthful but mature, lacks much versatility, and is only for those with plenty of confidence. Ideal for autumn and even winter. Longevity is very good, though the projection is moderate.
Tobacco Reserve is purely woody, where the tobacco shines on its own. A rugged opening with dry tobacco and green notes; even raw cinnamon is perceptible, lasting for a few hours before relaxing and the tonka bean base emerging. It will please those seeking realistic tobacco; it is not youthful, it is mature, it allows little versatility, and the wearer must be confident. Appropriate for autumn and even a little winter. Duration is very good, though projection is moderate.
An interesting and curious perfume from Estée Lauder. It is changing, shifting between green, camphoraceous, dry, nutmeg, woods, tobacco and tonka. To me, it smells like blended incense. At times the tonka is heavy, but the perfume quickly changes to sober and dry. Very mature and old-school, far from current trends, which is welcome. Performance is excellent, good longevity and an interesting trail. Personally, I liked it and it is worth it if it is at a good price. Not very versatile or difficult to wear; more for personal enjoyment, very subjective. Recommended for lovers of dark, tobacco-based and old-school perfumes. Of all the current Aramis offerings, I think this is the best. Highly recommended, at least to try it.
What a scent, sir! It’s a quality tobacco that delights the nose. The opening is spectacular: that dry tobacco that floods everything suits me perfectly, and the sweetness that follows doesn’t detract from the main note at all. It’s very well made and balanced. I also detect a touch of incense and a very subtle alcoholised note. It’s truly an addictive scent. On my skin, the performance is notable: after eight hours, it’s still detectable within 20 centimetres without issue (I just tested it with my girlfriend and she can smell it clearly). Although I see it as perfect for autumn and winter, even in spring, I agree with those who say it’s not the most versatile; better suited to formal night outings because it’s a serious scent that gives a good impression. If you can get it at a good price and you like classics, it could be a good candidate for a blind buy, a little-known gem to add to the collection… Simply excellent, truly. You can even tell the quality of the bottle’s dispenser.
What a gentleman’s aroma. Quality tobacco, very pleasant. The opening is spectacular: that dry tobacco that floods the air is delightful, and the sweetness later on does not interfere. It is very well made and balanced. I detect some incense and a subtle camphoraceous touch. It is addictive. On my skin, the performance is notable: at 8 hours it is still detectable at 20cm without any issue (I tested it with my girlfriend and she can smell it clearly). I see it for autumn/winter, perhaps spring. Like others, I think it is not versatile; more for formal night outings, a serious scent that dresses the wearer. If you find it at a good price and you like classics, it could be a little-known gem for the collection. Simply excellent, truly. You can even tell the quality of the atomiser.
A magnificent, liquorish, almond and honeyed tobacco scent, inspired by a fine Cuban tobacco of great beauty, like a fine aged spirit. It draws from the best aged tobacco, with sweet notes from tonka, green, dry and slightly camphoraceous touches of nutmeg, blackcurrants, and that rare note of ripe fruit. It is potent but not overpowering; rather, it’s for enjoying hours of exquisite and addictive fragrance, provided it is a very fine EDP. If you recall Mugler Pure Havane, this is more refined, camphoraceous, halfway between an almond liqueur and tobacco.
It’s autumn, an open space with plants, and suddenly blackcurrants and a touch of sarsaparilla arrive. Thus Tobacco Reserve by Aramis opens. Those sweet/green notes mix with tobacco, nutmeg and iris root to create a narcotic effect. At two metres people will say: ‘What a nice smell this guy has!’. The best part is the finish: tonka bean and oakmoss make it elegant, with personality and very well made. One of Aramis’ best! Its best moments are cool nights, but it also works well on cold mornings.
It’s hard for me to describe. It doesn’t smell like Eau Des Bavx or Chergui as others say. It seems more linear with good performance. It’s a sweet-green-tobacco blend, all mixed and abstract. Good first impression from a house that produces interesting things and then discards them (like the Calligraphy series).
I had high expectations… Tobacco Reserve is peculiar and unique. I expected potent tobacco, but it’s discreet; not even a ‘face-to-face’ opening, it fades to skin level within minutes but remains soft. Sweet hazelnut and tonka bean without losing elegance. Maximum duration 5 hours with 5 sprays, barely acceptable 🙁 It’s discreet, dignified and sensual. Rating 8, trail 5, longevity 5, price 6, originality 9. Would I buy again? NO. Does anyone want it?
I had high hopes… Tobacco Reserve is a very peculiar and unique fragrance. I expected a more potent tobacco, but quite the opposite; it’s fairly discreet; neither the opening is ‘in your face’ nor does it stay close to the skin for long, although it remains perceptible very softly. Sweet and subtle nut and tonka vanilla without losing its elegance. Maximum longevity of 5 hours with 5 sprays, which is barely acceptable in performance :). It’s discreet and stately yet sensual. Fragrance 8, Sillage 5, Longevity 5, Price 6, Originality 9. Would I buy again? NO. Does anyone want it?
At first it smells of vanilla with a tobacco base, like an old and potent cologne version of Tobacco Vanille. Today it feels more watery, much like Aramis: moderate trail lasting about 4 hours, then shifting to vanilla/amber. By the 12-hour mark, I can only smell it up close. It felt like a failed attempt, something already seen a thousand times. Average quality, it wears me out quickly due to being very monotonous. Suitable for formal occasions and cold weather, rather dull; I wouldn’t use it more than once or twice a week, honestly I’d switch.
At first, it smells vanilla with a touch of tobacco in the background; it seemed like a sort of COLOGNE version of Tobacco Vanille, which was sold 4 or 5 years ago and was quite potent. I have no doubt that the current version is on the same watery level as the Aramis one; at this stage, it has had a medium-low sillage for about four hours retaining that scent, then it shifts to vanilla/amber until the end. After 12 hours, I still sense it but only close to the skin. It seemed like a failed attempt, a fragrance that tried to stand out in the tobacco section. It’s not a bad smell, but it’s something seen several times before; its quality is not great, and in the end, it tires or irritates me because, to be honest, it’s very monotonous. Of a formal type and for cold climates, it’s a somewhat boring fragrance that I wouldn’t wear more than once or twice a week because it tires quickly; to be honest, I would swap it for another.
Very good vibe, dry and subtle tobacco bathed in glazed donut liquor with a hint of cinnamon. At a party, this turns you into honey. On my skin and experience, it beats Paco, Jean Paul, Dkny and the rest.
