  1. I agree 100% with @DrPerfum. It had been a while since I tried animalic oud, and I received a decant of Purely Orient Tonka. At first, that smell of manure gave me a shock and I frowned, thinking ‘right, this is oud’. But once it dried down, it became super creamy and sweet; although the animalic touch is still noticeable up close, it’s a perfume meant to be worn in the air, not stuck to the skin. For me, who hates animalic notes, I absolutely love it, though I still haven’t dared to wear it on my clothes.

  2. The tonka opens with a good dose of stable oud, a smell of manure at the start that fades significantly within half an hour and blends into a first-class sweet tonka bean. Moreover, that animalic touch transforms into something that smells like broomcorn. With just one spray, it’s noticeable throughout the room, although three or four sprays leave an incredible trail wherever you go. Very potent and long-lasting. The presentation is top-notch, one of the best I’ve seen. EDIT: To those who criticise, I clarify that you don’t smell it up close, but rather the scent it leaves in the air. That is truly excellent. If you smell it right up against your skin, most people probably won’t like it. And I’m telling you this from someone who doesn’t like animalic notes, but here it is very well blended. Better not to opine if you haven’t tried it. In the end, I bought the full bottle and I truly enjoy it.
