Touching Hinoki Captures the Stillness of Japanese Woodland
Touching Hinoki, introduced by FUMparFUM in 2025, is a fragrance for men and women centred on hinoki cypress wood. The nose behind it is Aistis Mickevičius.
Spiced citrus leads into coniferous woods and balsam, before a base of cedar moss, vetiver and musk brings a soft, mossy calm.
Bergamot, white grapefruit, cardamom and black pepper open the composition. The impression is crisp and freshly spiced, with clear citrus lifted by aromatic dryness.
At the centre, hinoki cypress wood takes over, supported by pine and elemi. Green, resinous and gently balsamic, it suggests quiet timber halls and cool forest shade.
Cedar moss then lends a mossy woodiness to the drydown, vetiver adds an earthy grounding note, and musk lends a clean, smoothing veil.
The transition from brightness to wood is gradual, keeping the whole wearing light and composed.
It is a distinctly woody, citrus-aromatic creation, more about texture and atmosphere than projection.
