About Trust Fund
Trust Fund by Smells Like Lulu: A Woody Spicy Fragrance for Him and Her
Smells Like Lulu has added Trust Fund to its line-up, a woody spicy fragrance created for him and her. The scent launched in 2024 and comes from perfumer Alan Humberto Maldonado Navarro.
Trust Fund starts with bitter orange, cinnamon and rhubarb, then settles into a floral, powdery heart of jasmine, almond and iris. Virginia cedar and ambergris give the base a warm, graceful finish.
The opening has real character. Bitter orange gives a zesty edge, cinnamon wraps the blend in warmth, and rhubarb adds a slightly sharp, almost leafy touch. It feels like an autumn afternoon – brisk but comfortable, and much lighter than you might expect from a woody spice scent.
In the middle, the perfume softens considerably. Jasmine supplies a white floral glow, whilst almond and iris round things out with a smooth, talc-like texture. The iris is especially prominent here, leaving a refined powdery trail that keeps the fragrance from feeling too heavy or dense.
The base rests on Virginia cedar and ambergris. The cedar is clean, dry and woody; the ambergris warms it up and adds a subtle, lingering softness. This combination gives the scent a composed finish that stays close to the skin and never becomes cloying.
Trust Fund belongs to the woody spicy olactory family. Its accords include woody, fruity, white floral, iris, citrus, cinnamon, amber, almond, warm spicy and powdery. These layers are woven together carefully, so the fragrance remains easy to wear despite its complexity. It works for both day and evening, though it comes into its own when the temperature drops.
The unisex nature of Trust Fund means it adapts to the wearer. Some people will find the wood and spices dominate; others will notice the florals and powder more clearly. It’s a scent that rewards patience and reveals itself slowly. The current rating of 5 out of 5, based on one review, suggests a strong first impression.
People who enjoy woody, spicy scents with a softer floral and powdery undertone will get plenty from Trust Fund. It should also suit those looking for a versatile unisex fragrance for autumn and winter, with enough polish for evenings out.
Trust Fund is a sophisticated addition to the Smells Like Lulu range. It balances spice, wood and powder with a quiet sense of confidence. If you’re after an elegant unisex scent with substance, this deserves to be tested.
