Vanilla State by Moonshine is an Oriental Vanilla scent for men and women, released in 2026. Perfumer Clément Marx has built it around vanilla explored in layered form.
Creamy pistachio brightness leads the way, followed by a milky caramelised centre and a warm amber, woody and earthy dry-down.
Up top, vanilla, vanilla pod and pistachio come together. The impression is sweet and smooth, the nut lending a roasted, lightly green character that brightens the vanilla.
Through the middle, burnt sugar, vanilla and custard shape a dessert-like, milky core. It feels caramelised and comforting, with vanilla remaining the focus.
Underneath, black amber, vetiver and patchouli give added depth. The amber offers balsamic warmth, while vetiver and patchouli contribute woody, earthy and aromatic tones with a subtle animalic hint.
The finish is warm, sweet and gently spiced, poised between gourmand softness and a drier, grounded counterpoint. As a unisex creation, it fits cooler evenings when an enveloping vanilla is called for.
It should suit those who enjoy creamy, sweet vanilla grounded by amber and woods and are after a shared Oriental Vanilla for autumn evenings and relaxed occasions.
