  It conveys a lot of cleanliness. There’s plenty of musk and little else. It evolves very little. That musk reminds me of Le Male or Cuba Golf, but it’s neither a clone nor an inspiration. Although it’s a flanker, it has nothing to do with the original. Sillage and projection are moderate, lasting about five or six hours. If you’re on a tight budget, it’s worth considering. Excellent value for money.

  If it’s pure musk, beware! It’s ambrette musk, not animal musk—it’s vegan. For those who don’t know, ambrette gives a sweet profile, like urine, similar to tonka bean, a bit earthy; here they’ve made it talcy, classic barbershop style, reminiscent of baby powder. I love the concept but feel it lacks quality. I’d love to see this same accord with more refinement; it would be a total hit.

  Wild Country Musk is spicy, aromatic, and musky. It smells like a barbershop; it surely contains coumarin, tonka bean, and lavender, with a touch of talc and a musk base. The scent doesn’t change much. I remember an auntie selling Avon products, and this was a hit among my cousins and friends when I was twelve. It’s still pleasant, though now it sounds more synthetic than others I own, but you can’t expect excellence for under ten dollars. It’s dense, suitable for any season except heat, and lasts over eight hours. It brings back good memories, so I’ll keep a bottle. Nowadays, for this style, I’d go for Luna Rossa Black, although there’s a big difference in scent and quality.

  Smells absolutely delicious; it’s the first perfume I ever bought as a child. I loved it—it’s sweet and woody. I used to wear it all the time, perhaps because it didn’t last very long.
