Windsor Pour Homme by English Laundry is a woody-spicy fragrance for men. Launched in 2016, this composition features apple, aldehydes, citrus, bergamot and grapefruit in its top notes. The heart of the fragrance unfolds with cinnamon, cloves, lavender, cardamom, pepper, rose, saffron, violet, herbal notes, jasmine and geranium. Meanwhile, the base notes reveal tobacco, oud wood, leather, vetiver, vanilla, tonka bean, amber, oakmoss, cedar and musk.

Brutal fragrance with a serious, elegant air. At first, it smells like pirul leaves (Schinus molle), that Mexican tree used in santería to cleanse energies, due to that blend of herbs and citrus. Then it explodes with spices and aldehydes creating a thousand nuances. The dry down is wow: fresh leather, medicinal notes, wild honey, balsam and tobacco. The cinnamon and cloves lower the tone to make way for vanilla, tobacco and oud. A relative from the US gifted it to me in a 20ml bottle, and now I have to dive into this brand’s world. The trail is a beast. Absolutely brilliant.
