  I picked this up in Paris at Jardins d’Ecrivains, that lovely shop next to La Bastille, and wore it throughout the week I was there, so the memory is wonderful. It’s a top-tier fragrance; I’d call it ‘Aromatic Marina’ if such a thing existed. It projects strongly: on one hand, it’s ocean, ozone, and sea salt; on the other, aromatic herbs without any single one dominating, achieving a perfect balance between rosemary, sage, and lavender. Then everything settles, and you catch hints of flowers in the distance, leather, and oakmoss. It remains very aromatic and marine, but as it dries down, it becomes more amber, thanks to the nuances of ambergris and its connection to the coast. It’s very masculine and elegant; I’ve worn it without issue in summer, though its best moments are on hot nights. I picture it with a shirt, linen or cotton trousers, and leather shoes, designer loafers, or espadrilles. Overall, it’s very Mediterranean. To conclude, the ZORBA THE GREEK concept is executed brilliantly; this house are true artists, and it shows.
