Perfumer
Paolo Cerizza
Paolo Cerizza was born in 1960 in San Remo (Italy). He grew up among essential oils since childhood.
His father, Aurelio Cerizza, founded in 1946 the company E.M.A. (Essences of Aromatic Materials) in Milan. A few years later, in 1956, Aurelio opened a branch in Imperia, where he distilled precious natural raw materials such as jasmine, rose, iris, ylang-ylang, lavender and sandalwood.
In 1966, Aurelio founded Cerizza Spa in Milan, where Paolo (together with his brothers Maurizio, Guido and Gianluigi) began in 1983 his artistic career as a perfumer and fragrance creator.
His great passion for perfumes, over the years, would become a profession. His creations reached national and international markets, signing major successful projects. His training mentor was René Ricord, a professor at the first and prestigious Roure School of Perfumery. Ricord was the assistant of Jean Carles, the great perfumer who founded the Roure school in 1946.
Through his creations, he transforms sensations into harmonious perfumes: like a traveller, he seeks, finds and creates his own formulas. The fragrances appear clearly and distinctly in his mind, like synesthetic connections.
Paolo Cerizza embodies a symbol of talent, creativity, passion and experience.
