Descripción
Burberry Women is a fruity floral fragrance for women, created by the house of Burberry in 1995. The nose behind this composition is Michel Almairac. The top notes unfold a vibrant accord of peach, blackcurrant, pear, blackcurrant and green apple. The heart of the fragrance reveals an earthy and floral elegance with sandalwood, jasmine and moss. Finally, the base notes settle on a warm and enveloping foundation of vanilla, cedar and musk.

One winter day I treated myself to it and it seems so appropriate given how warm it is. It’s slightly burnt vanilla with a rough touch that moves it away from teenage sweetness and gives it distinction. A hug for cold nights and it remains like a well-given embrace. The packaging seems a bit simple, but it’s well worth it for what’s inside.
It’s my everyday work perfume. It has great longevity, an elegant and original scent, uncommon and fits perfectly with my age range of 30 to 40. It’s strong but not tiring and adds personality.
05/04/2019: It’s quite delicate and appropriate, ideal for going to work without bothering anyone; on the contrary, people compliment you and ask about it because it’s elegant and current, even though it’s been on the market for decades. 04/07/2020: The bottle from last year, although soft, lasted only a few hours. And there’s always talk about the brand’s quality. What a disappointment! I bought a tester thinking it would have better projection… and neither does it last nor project. It’s the new version, without a cap like testers. I’ll use it in 3 or 4 months, having to reapply several times. I won’t buy it again, it’s not worth it if you don’t enjoy it.
I’ve had it twice: I like it and I don’t like it, it’s a love-hate relationship.
Mmm, I didn’t like it. I don’t sense any sweetness or vanilla; on the contrary, it smells fresh and herbal. I’ll keep it to try in summer. Perhaps they’ve reformulated it, as it doesn’t match what other reviews say or what I smell.
To be clear: it’s a PERFUME. It lasts almost all day on my skin. It doesn’t get tiring. With the winter here in Argentina, I know it will be my companion. It’s delicate but noticeable. Don’t overdo the amount or it becomes overwhelming. The notes I feel most are blackcurrant, peach, and cedar.
A great perfume, very different and sophisticated for me. I don’t have it now as I got a bit tired of it, but I love that warm, sweet vanilla base, ideal for cool days. When I wore it, lots of people asked about it. I’ll probably buy it again one day.
Like other Burberrys, it’s elegant, refined, and unobtrusive, perfect for everyday wear. It smells sweet but not overpowering, with peach and quite musky vanilla. Classic, very much a 90s scent. I like these kinds of aromas, but I wouldn’t recommend buying it blindly. The fruity opening is lovely, though as it dries down there’s an animal note (from the musk) that doesn’t quite suit me. The trail and longevity are top. Scent 7/10, longevity 9/10, trail 8/10, value for money 8/10, packaging 7/10. Might buy it again.
In short: if you’re looking for something elegant yet informal, this is it. It goes with heels or trainers. Ideal for spring, autumn, and winter; in summer only for evening if it’s very hot. It’s a perfume for everything. Good price and I love the flask-style bottle. A worthwhile investment for the day in those seasons and for the evening when it’s warmer.
It’s completely hooked me. I’ve already gone through two small bottles and I’m saving space to buy another. It’s sweet, sensual, and clean, with a stunning trail that weighs nothing.
Rich and sweet, yes, quite cloying, but it suits perfectly. It features vanilla and fruit, yet remains serious; nothing overly sugary or caramelised. It is elegant and sophisticated, suitable for any age. In fact, I was going to buy it for my mother but ended up keeping it for myself. I’m nearly out of the bottle, but I’ll be buying it again.
This scent reminds me of a hippie or bohemian girl. A delightful perfume, it brings such a sense of well-being.
An incredible scent with a wonderful trail and ten-hour longevity. Suitable for both winter and summer. A fantastic fragrance at a very good price.
Delicious! I loved it in the 90s and still buy it because it has to be there for me, although I admit that recently, when I ordered it alongside Cloud by Ariana Grande, I was surprised how much they resembled each other, as if Burberry had been bathed in sugar. I liked it almost as much as Burberry; for me, it was a gourmand update, and although I’m not a fan of that style, Cloud is now one of my favourites. Burberry on my skin has moderate sillage and lasts about 5 hours.
Exquisite fragrance. From the outset, I detect peach and blackcurrant, with a fleeting fruity touch of apple and blackcurrants that quickly fade, revealing a more mature scent thanks to the woody notes, without losing its softness or sweetness. The vanilla emerges subtly, never overshadowing the peach. I describe it as comfortable and delicious, though slightly linear. On me, it feels warm and caramelised, sweet yet not cloying, with a hint of talcum powder. The blackcurrant is noticeable, one of my favourite notes alongside ripe peach—nothing like those unripe celebrity fruit bombs. I adore the woody contribution; it adds seriousness without being overpowering. I see it as perfect for everyday wear, highly versatile, suitable for both formal and informal occasions, timeless. It suits everything. Launched in 1995, yet it doesn’t feel vintage; on the contrary, it’s youthful, cheerful, and elegant all at once. The minimal talcum note prevents it from seeming aged; it’s a delight. It works well in any climate, especially in autumn due to the vanilla touch. In cold and fresh weather, it depends on how much sweetness you can tolerate. More for daily wear, though it can also be worn at night if you’re after something intimate. Longevity and sillage are moderate. My only drawback: although it’s an EDP, on me it doesn’t project enough, lasting a weak five hours, only becoming noticeable when pressed close to the skin. On others, it may last longer, but that’s not my experience. It compares favourably with Jessica Simpson’s Fancy Love as a much cheaper dupe. Honestly, they are remarkably similar; smelling both from the cap, it seems like the same scent in both bottles, a very well-executed match. The presentation is simple and convenient for travel. Overall, it’s delicious and very feminine for those who love sweet scents.
It has good sillage and longevity, but for me it is too heavy and smells like an old book or clothes left in the wardrobe for years. I would not recommend buying it blind.
This fragrance fits perfectly with elegance and sophistication; a delicious vintage scent that never goes out of style. The longevity is excellent, the sillage is moderate, nothing cloying, suitable for day and night, and ideal for cold weather. I love it.
I think this is the first time I’ve criticised a reformulation, but I just smelled the new version in the perfumerie and it is much worse than the original. It has lost all its magic. It smells much more woody and less special. Perhaps it’s nostalgia for those late 90s autumns and winters when I was ten and my seventeen-year-old cousin would wear this perfume for no reason, which seemed incredible to me.
Exquisite! I found it by accident because I liked J.S. Fancy Love and read that this one was similar. What a find! Yes, they are very alike, but Burberry is 100 times better in quality. It has become one of my absolute favourites.
I must say this perfume is very strong in its opening. Later, upon drying down, it is perceived much better. Although it is not what I expected from it, I am a little disappointed. I think I will give it another opportunity… I will see if I change my mind.
I absolutely love it! I stumbled upon it by chance years ago and it’s been a staple ever since. The quality-to-price ratio is impeccable. To me, it’s the ultimate wardrobe classic: suitable for any season, goes with everything, and is the safe choice when you don’t want to risk a mistake.
What on earth have they done to this perfume? It has been the most beautiful and magical scent I have felt in my 42 years. I had versions in all sizes; I bought them in official stores, retail, airports, and even at Marshall and Ross sales in Orlando, and always, always, it had that aroma that provoked peace and happiness. A scent that was part of my personality, that represented me… But one day, before the pandemic, it simply was not the same anymore. First, I thought I had bought an old bottle at an airport in Argentina just after the ‘stock break’. Unfortunately, I ordered a small version from an official store in Chile, but it arrived in a different box, a different colour, with that ugly cap we removed quickly… The saleswomen insisted that only the cap and box had changed but that it was the same perfume… NO! ‘Mamá mona con bananas verdes’? Well, yes, of course we caught on, we realised. They have spoiled the perfume from the root. And no, it was not the cap that scared us. We stopped buying because now that they have returned their original cap and box, what is inside is just another perfume. I do not know about you, but I feel something is missing from my life… I feel Saudade, saudade of that old Burberry that no longer exists. And on every trip I try to find a scent to occupy its place… I do not think a similar one will help; I am open to knowing a different scent that brings me that love I felt with Burberry of old, but neither Light Blue Intense by Dolce Gabbana (delicious, beautiful) nor Tiffany & Co Love for Her (delicate and loving) have helped. If anyone feels represented by my words and has found a scent that helped them navigate this loss, I will be happy to come every month to read your comments.
This perfume is pure fresh, cheap peach 🍑 with lots of vanilla and that subtle sandalwood base. Rich and fresh to feel happy and clean all day. It projects happiness, just like my beloved Light Blue by DG 🥰. A cheaper version of this perfume is Jessica Simpson Fancy Love.
I used this perfume once and I must say I liked it. It is sweet, fruity, with vanilla, and has very good longevity. What happens to me with some sweet perfumes is that they tire me out. I start very strong with them and then they overwhelm me. It does not happen with all of them; with some I would never tire, but with others… I cannot say the same. This perfume is rich, very rich, almost edible. I see it for spring and summer, but without overdoing it. Maybe one day I repeat, but I know I would suffer the same as before, that I would tire of so much sweetness. Is it a good perfume? Yes, it is, and very pleasant. But not one of my favourites.
It is not my tempo. To me, it smells of sticky synthetic sweetness with no discernible notes. There is no fruitiness or vanilla. It smells musty and heavy. It is the type of perfume I would associate with a woman of my grandmother’s age.
I like Burberry Women a lot; it is subtle, soft, avianilled with a very light woody touch at the end. What stands out most to me is the vanilla. It is ideal for smelling like yourself and relaxing, for sleeping. It does not have a great sillage; you notice it and someone very close, which is enough for me; it is a perfume for short distances that brings much wellbeing. Nighttime use is for very relaxed environments; I do not see it for going out partying.
I had it years ago and enjoyed every drop. I could say it is the very definition of ‘perfume’: neither generic nor conventional; timeless, kind, and refined. It is a scent that inspires confidence immediately. Those were university years, and I used it for every English literature class. Its smell transports me to a world of books, to the luminous solidity of classics, when all there was to do was read and discover on every page. Those were afternoons in a white shirt, a beige cashmere sweater, and the dear professor who is no longer with us, so neat and wise as always, gesturing with long pink hands. For me, it synthesises an ideal of wellbeing to which I always wish to return. I remember it as enveloping and comforting; I would not like to know if it has changed as much as they say.
What a perfume! It will be my favourite autumn and winter scent forever. Elegant, creamy, exquisite. Every time I wear it, I receive compliments. Wonderful and classic.
Today a bottle of this perfume arrived. It was a choice made by someone who asked for an ‘all-rounder’ without specifying a brand or details. As I have issues with longevity, I applied a very modest spray to my forearm. It felt soft, sweet, and subtle. I noticed a note of white musk, something rare for me, but here it developed very prominently. It is a fragrance of white florals and fruits with sandalwood and wood. Everything maintained a clean, almost creamy sweetness. Very subtle, with a moderate sillage. Remembering what happened before, a single spray at two in the afternoon was still there at midnight, soft but present. I am pleasantly surprised. Many times fragrances that promised much left no trace after an hour, even expensive brands that lasted a mere breath. This time I was lucky 🍀 to find this subtle and beautiful aroma. I will update when I use it in normal quantity; perhaps it has more to offer. If you like subtle, refined fragrances with good longevity, here is an excellent option.
For me, this scent is the pure definition of elegance.
Delicious, a classic. Excellent longevity, lovely and moderate trail, nothing strident, elegant. Now, for me, it’s a dupe of Lattafa’s Qaed Al Fursan Unlimited, although they only share two notes, but it’s not listed here on Fragrantica.
To be direct: my mum uses it and it smells of bitter vanilla to her, but on me it smells terrible, very ‘ladylike’, yes, but not for me. On me it’s strong, floral and a bit sweet; I find it heavy and not as fruity as described.
Good morning, does anyone know if it smells the same to you? I’ve had this for years and today I notice it’s more diluted; have they reformulated it?
Delicious and classic, easy to wear from 25 or at any age if you like it. It has a soft musk touch, nothing overwhelming, and sweet woods. It adds class no matter what you’re wearing, without needing special clothes. Very versatile, ideal as a signature; I’m complimented a lot because it stands out among today’s sweets. On me, it lasts until the next day after a shower.
I love it because it smells like Avon’s Karmala: that mix of wood and moss is lovely, fresh but not so much for summer, rather timeless, with presence without being overwhelming. It has everything.
If you like the scent of green apple and peach with vanilla, this perfume might appeal to you. Unfortunately, it lasts very little, only a few hours. It doesn’t smell of apple pie; it’s a green apple with a touch of peach, sweetened with vanilla. It’s versatile and could become a signature scent. It’s not overpowering or annoying to others. It’s pleasant, pretty, fresh, youthful and fun without being childish.
More than fruity, it feels intensely of vanilla, special for cold afternoons in autumn or winter. It’s feminine, coquettish, interesting, subtle, elegant and classic.
I would describe it in four words: Delicious, Elegant, Beautiful, Timeless. It’s my favourite perfume of all time; I love many, but this has a special place in my heart. It’s phenomenal, a woody, vanilla-peach elegantly musked. It smells so delicious, with that apricot, that pear and those blackcurrants perfectly combined, bathed in wood with mossy touches. I’ll never tire of that scent. It’s like the young, elegant mum from Burberry Heritage.
I love its scent; it has a very particular delicacy, cheerful and elegant. The opening has a fruity sweetness, nothing too loud; to my nose, the pear and green apple stand out, adding lightness, and I sense a velvety, sweet touch I associate with peach, though I don’t detect the blackcurrants. It reminded me of Emporio Armani Lei for that pear note. As it dries down, although it doesn’t smell of honey, it gives that subtle sensation that seems to enhance the sandalwood and jasmine, a delicious combination. As it progresses, a cheerful, sweet woody note emerges. My favourite part is the transition between the heart and the dry down: I sense a breeze of jasmine and sandalwood with the cedar giving autumnal sparkles, plus that sensual, coquettish touch of musk. It makes me think of a woodland setting, an afternoon among trees with yellow foliage, sunshine and fresh breeze, wearing a white sweater and holding a caramel ice lolly. The notes are rich and perfect, but I’m left with a dilemma regarding the trail and longevity. Perhaps it’s my pH, but on skin it lasts very little, almost nothing by four hours; on clothes, however, it persists. I applied it at 10 am and by 5 pm my clothes still smelled of it. Based on the dry down notes, I think it could be annoying if it had more projection, but it pains me that it’s so hard to smell on me. I’ve seen others say it lasts longer on skin; I don’t know if they reformulated the perfume or if they have tips to make it more perceptible. I got it at a good discount, so I’ll let the weather surprise me. It’s not expensive, but given what we’re getting to know, I’m not sure if I’d buy it again, although I really like its scent.
I get confused by the reviews because many call it sweet and exquisite, but to me it smells nothing of the sort. The opening is strong, bitter, mossy and very herbal, a sharp scent. Elegant? Perhaps, but certainly not youthful. I wouldn’t recommend it for summer.
