  • The opening is top-notch with a spicy and musky citrus ‘blast’ that gives a slightly powdery, very masculine feel. Compared to Armani Pour Homme or Acqua di Parma colognes, they seem to belong to the same aromatic citrus family, but that’s not quite right; I believe this is more woody, spicy, or aromatic. In fact, there’s one from that family with which it shares only a single note yet has a striking resemblance: Polo Explorer. Ignoring the specific notes, the difference between Galloway and P.E. is that in Galloway the mandarin is lower, slightly spiced with a touch of musk. I also detect a minty note and a very faint powdery dry-down, likely due to the iris. You might think the differences make it smell distinct, but no, the overall aroma is very similar. They say time heals all wounds and tames fragrances (reformulations prove this). That’s why, although I initially felt it was totally masculine, after an hour I see unisex potential. I still like it so much that I’m already eyeing it to buy. On my skin, it lasted up to 12 hours: 4 hours with medium sillage, 4 hours low, and the final 4 hours close to the skin. I used a small amount from a sample vial, so I reckon if used from a bottle, its performance would be even better. Suitable for fresh or cold climates, formal or semi-formal attire, for men aged 25 and above. They say Polo Explorer has been discontinued and many miss it; this Marly scent, with its refined and similar aroma, could be a great substitute.

  • A truly gorgeous and luminous scent. It opens with a burst of citrus, slightly bitter, strong yet not aggressive. The iris and pepper are noticeable right from the start. Once it settles on the skin, a very clean musk and a sweet amber emerge. The result is bright and powerful; initially, I thought it was more feminine, but after the first hour, as the orange blossom and iris notes soften, it balances beautifully and becomes much more masculine. On my skin, it lasts nearly 9 hours: the first two hours project clearly at arm’s length, then it leaves a delightful, elegant bubble that smells lovely to those around you. It reminds me of Creed’s Green Irish Tweed, but with nuances: this is more citrusy and floral, whereas Creed is greener. I recommend it for men aged 25, suitable for both formal and informal occasions. It lasts a long time and smells fantastic. Ideal for a sparkling, distinguished, and seductive summer. • A beautiful and super bright scent. It opens with an explosion of citrus, slightly bitter, strong yet not aggressive. You can detect the iris and pepper right from the start. Once it settles on the skin, a very clean musk and a sweet amber emerge. The result is brilliant and powerful; at first, I thought it was more feminine, but after the first hour, as the neroli and iris notes soften, it balances beautifully and becomes much more masculine. On my skin, it lasts nearly nine hours: the first two hours project clearly up to a metre and a half, then it leaves a lovely, elegant bubble that smells wonderful to those around you. It reminds me of Creed’s Green Irish Tweed but with nuances: this is more citrusy and floral, whereas Creed is greener. I recommend it for men in their mid-twenties, suitable for both formal and informal occasions. It lasts a long time and smells fantastic. Ideal for a sparkling, distinguished, and seductive summer. • It reminded me very much of Egoïste Platinum, very aromatic, with a discreet citrus in the background and powdery notes. At the base, a very animalic musk gives it great depth and texture, and the discreet amber adds only a soft sweetness at the very end.

A truly magnificent fragrance, even within the PDM house where other scents are more famous and beloved by enthusiasts. Galloway is incredibly rich, fresh, evoking cleanliness and neatness, yet playful in a sexy way. It opens with citrus and celery, and as it dries down, the amber, ambergris, and orange blossom create a wonderfully rich trail. I don’t detect the iris note despite it being listed. Of course, one cannot discuss Galloway without mentioning Lalique White, from which it was inspired; the resemblance is obvious. Lalique White has a citrus and tamarind tone, whereas here the amber and orange blossom take centre stage. Galloway elevates the experience to an entirely different level; although Lalique has good quality, Galloway lasts for hours and projects excellently. It’s a gem within the house, somewhat lost among the fame of Layton, Herod, Percival, and Greenley. Originality 2/10 Versatility 10/10 Longevity 8/10 Projection 8/10 Quality 10/10

A very rich fragrance. Even within PDM, where there are others with more fame and adoration by enthusiasts, Galloway is incredibly rich. It’s fresh, gives a sense of cleanliness and tidiness, and is playful in a sexy way. It opens with citrus and pepper, and as it dries, the musk, amber, and neroli flowers give a very rich touch. I don’t perceive the iris note despite it being listed. Obviously, you can’t talk about Galloway without mentioning Lalique White, from which the inspiration came; there is an obvious resemblance. Lalique White has a citrus and tamarind tone, whereas here the amber and neroli concentrate the attention. However, Galloway raises the level abysmally; although Lalique has good quality, Galloway lasts hours and projects excellently. Truly a gem within the house, lost among the fame of Layton, Herod, Percival, and Greenley. Originality 2/10, Versatility 10/10, Longevity 8/10, Projection 8/10, Quality 10/10.

  • A very pleasant perfume, one of the forgotten gems of this house… and from my nose, better than Sedley and less ubiquitous than Percival. It doesn’t seek to turn heads or be a monster in projection, but with good longevity, it accompanies the wearer delicately. From my perspective, although it is refined, it is quite versatile for any occasion in spring/summer. I imagine it ideal for young adults, a bit classic, for the ‘Mr Nice Guy’ type; it suits me.

  • A subtle fragrance that goes brilliantly with any outfit, provided the weather is mild or hot. For a citrus scent, its longevity and projection are quite good. It’s a fine fragrance that lives in the shadow of its siblings, but then again, PDM is the best thing that could have happened to the industry.

  • A fragrance that is not intrusive and goes perfectly with any outfit, provided the weather is mild or hot. For a citrus scent, its longevity and projection are quite good. It’s a good fragrance that lives in the shadow of its sisters, but PDM is the best thing that could have happened to the industry.

It’s soft and not intrusive; it would be great for everyday wear if not for the price. I recommend it for hot days; it’s perfect for summer. Its longevity is high, which surprises me since it’s citrus-based, and its trail is moderate. The quality is excellent, which shouldn’t come as a surprise with PDM, and given the price, you wouldn’t expect less. It smells great; it’s not the most innovative perfume, but I give it a 9/10. I bought it blind and have no regrets; I recommend doing so because I find it easy to please.

I liked the Neroli-Iris combo in Galloway, and with summer approaching, I decided to try it with a vial of Pafory. I found something very delicate and harmonious, as is usual with PDM, but I haven’t managed to distinguish or capture the neroli or iris as much. The pepper is noticeable at first, with citrus at the base. The pepper lasts about half an hour, and the citrus blends with the floral notes as it dries. But what rules here is undoubtedly the musk. Rather than a fresh citrus fragrance, I see it as a floral musk that, while initially feeling masculine, ends up in unisex territory. It’s rich for spring-summer (though with intense heat, I prefer fresher options), elegant and distinguished, although for me it won’t be a purchase as Habdan, Greenley, and Percival catch my eye more.

  • I absolutely love it. The citrus opening with pepper is a favourite of mine; it lasts about 30-40 minutes. It’s not overly explosive, aiming for subtlety and elegance, so it settles on the skin quickly. It feels clean, slightly floral, with the iris very subtle and not dominant, while the base features a marked musk with an amber touch. Perfect for wearing with a white shirt in summer and spring. I tested it ages ago at a shopping centre with an almost empty bottle, and the scent lasted DAYS on the blotting paper; my new bottle doesn’t even come close to what I expected in terms of longevity. It lasts a long time on my skin even after washing, but from the moment I apply it, it fades fast. I hope it develops and performs like that tester.

  • It’s the elegant, classy cousin of the discontinued Givenchy Gentleman Cologne. They aren’t identical, but there’s a clear link. I’m not saying it’s bad; on the contrary, it’s a delight and a pleasure to wear. They share citrus and iris, though the iris is more muted in Galloway. PDM offers something fresh, soapy, with a touch of talc that highlights the quality of the ingredients. Pure cleanliness, subtlety, and elegance. Ideal for sunny, warm days, day wear only. Cheers, everyone!

  • If white had a scent, it would be Galloway by PDM. There’s little else to say. Well, one word: Impeccable.

  • If white had a scent, it would be Galloway by PDM. Full stop. Well, if I must add anything else: impeccable.

At 35 degrees, I thought I’d be wiped out quickly, but after eight hours, I can still smell it on my skin and clothes. It kept me fresh all day. Ten out of ten aroma!
