  The description says woody and spicy, but to me it sounded citrusy and aromatic, even though neither here nor on the official website mention citrus. Ignoring the theoretical notes, it smells citrusy and acidic, slightly opaque with a very subtle woody base from the patchouli; I didn’t detect cedar, spices, amber, or myrrh. It resembles the much-criticised BLEU de CHANEL, but it’s not a clone; rather, it’s a summer flanker, more opaque and citrusy. Chanel smells better, but this Armaf one wins on longevity: the Armaf Platinum lasted me 12 hours with moderate sillage, whereas the Chanel fails there. Despite being fresh, it works well in the heat (28-40°C); if it cools down a bit, when you step into air conditioning it pops back up strongly. Upon application it seems to sit close to the skin, but within seconds it’s noticeable. It’s citrusy, semi-formal, perfect for the office, with moderate sillage and 12 hours of longevity, suitable for 25+. If you like the Blue de Chanel but not for its longevity, give this a try. Note: I’m referring to the original formula of the Blue; they reformulated the current one and messed it up even more.

  Smells fantastic, a blend of Blue de Chanel and L’Eau d’Issey L’Eau Fraiche. Lasts five hours with moderate projection initially, then softens. Fresh, perfect for heat and any outfit. Rating: 7.5.
