I have no idea who gave those longevity and sillage ratings; surely someone who knows nothing about this perfume… Don’t let yourself be guided by Fragrantica statistics; I’ve tested it several times and they lie, claiming it’s moderate or scarce. This perfume lasts 8 hours and up on my skin, and even if your pH is weak for this type of aroma, it will last you at least 8 hours. The opening smells strongly of iris with sandalwood; it’s not as powerful at first, but as it dries it evolves into beast mode: iris with cocoa, woods, and a more distant sandalwood. It’s one of the best fragrances I’ve ever used: good opening, incredible dry-down. Excellent longevity and projection; don’t let yourselves be deceived. As already said, it’s for people aged 28 and up.

Excellent Givenchy perfume. The opening might not convince a connoisseur, but as it dries, it has a strange resemblance to Spicebomb but better executed. Perhaps it’s not super novel, but it’s not generic. It reminds me of something I smelled in the late 90s. Unlike the regular version, the citrus notes are noticeable, along with a very good sandalwood. Longevity is a decent 6–7 hours with good projection, though moderate.

  • Hello friends, I recommend this Givenchy fragrance, very masculine, highlighting the woody, fresh, and spicy notes, and of course the patchouli. To my taste, it’s for evening wear and spring.

  • It’s wonderful. A captivating and elegant scent. As with everything, longevity and projection depend on the skin. Many complain, but in my case it lasts over 10 hours. The first 2 or 3 hours it projects quite a bit, then it stays present with excellent performance. The price is good; it smells like a luxury fragrance. Suitable for the office, dates, meetings, and events like weddings. If you’re looking for something from this line that’s a hit, don’t hesitate to buy it.

My favourite, even above Gentleman EDP. It’s elegant, sweet but not cloying, becoming darker as it dries. The opening is energetic (and for many, the best part), then it softens, giving way to the iris, the hint of cocoa, and the rest. I wore it at the office in autumn/winter, although that seductive touch might not suit all work environments. The big catch? The longevity, which reaches only 5–6 hours, very tight. For an EDP, it falls short. Still, I would buy it again. I recommend trying it to see its performance.

I love it: woody chocolate iris, exquisite. The only drawback is its longevity and projection.

  • I don’t know why this perfume is demonised; it’s an olfactory gem. I love it, very elegant, with more than sufficient longevity on the skin.

  • First of all, it smells of cocoa, very pleasant but a bit shy. I wish it were more noticeable with several sprays.

  • I liked it; it didn’t go overboard or become a revolution, but it delivers. Ideal for the start of autumn and the cold. It’s probably the best version of Gentleman: simple yet interesting structure with moderate performance. In short: for a gentleman with class. It opens spicy and peppery (the pepper shines), then iris appears, used here with mastery and harmony, guiding gently towards the woody accords.

For me, this second option is a gem: less aggressive at first, but the scent is simply divine.

  • RicardoPowa123

The opening is VERY similar to Prada L’Homme Intense; almost identical, but its dry-down is the same as Valentino Uomo Intense (I have both, so I can attest to this…). A perfume with a strong cocoa + iris scent.

  • leleboicarti

The One EDP blended with Gentleman EDP, the youngest in the line, perfect for dates and nights out with friends.

  • What a delightful aroma, pure elegance. It is perfect for formal or semi-formal occasions. On my skin, it lasts four to five hours, which is disappointing, but in itself, the scent is worth it.

  • In my opinion, it is an exquisite and high-quality fragrance. Modern, masculine, and quite addictive; it smells so good that it invites constant sniffing… It unleashes all the woody qualities of the 2017 Gentleman, adding a considerable amount of cocoa and powdery iris, managing to create something very elegant and subtle. The sandalwood and patchouli give it that earthy, incense-like touch that gives it body and camouflages the sweetness, so the balance is noticeable. For me, balance in a fragrance is fundamental; if it does not end up being overpowering, this is the opposite. It invites me to wear it always. Something I want to mention is that when I put it on, it envelops me in an exquisite cloud of elegance that makes me feel incredible, something that happens with few perfumes. It reminds me a little of D&G The One, surely to another fragrance within the olfactive family. It must be clarified that it is not very original, but it is very well made, and nowadays that is saying a lot. Very surprised with this perfume; within the designer segment, I think Givenchy produces very good aromas, although they often lack performance, but in this case, fortunately, it has excellent performance, surpassing the average. Highly recommended!

This fragrance is an iris nestled between wood shavings. The opening is a little dark, but as minutes pass, it begins to radiate that pleasant olfactory blend that envelops the body in a very masculine scent. It projects beyond the wrist, and the longevity is very acceptable, around eight hours. It is not linear; it evolves over time. What I like most is that iris over a woody base. Do not buy blindly, but do not be swayed by that initial opening either. Let a few minutes pass when it feels slightly spicy, and you will notice the magic. Recommended, similar to Prada L’Homme Intense and Ajmal’s Evoque Gold. Longevity 9/10, sillage 8/10, aroma 9/10, versatility 7/10, price 9/10.

It starts with a fresh spicy opening, pepper (and I suppose the geranium gives the freshness). This sensation fades quickly, giving way to the heart and base: very pleasant wood with floral touches and something sweet. It isn’t a dry woody fragrance; it’s juicy and appetising. The spicy note lingers perhaps for an hour. That hour is what I enjoy most, although afterwards it remains a superb scent. The longevity is very good; I can smell it until 8 hours, with a trail that is not invasive. On me, I think it’s rather weak, but when you move, you leave a pleasant trail. I don’t think it’s very versatile; I would use it on autumn and winter afternoons for a coffee, a meeting at home, or some quiet drinks. I don’t think it’s for going out partying. I would say it especially appeals from the age of 30. It’s worth trying; you enjoy it a lot. Although given its characteristics, it results in being slightly expensive (I bought it).

  • I got the cursed batch 🙁 … terrible projection and longevity, nothing like its older brother Gentleman EDP; that one fills rooms with so much scent, a literal beast, whereas Boisee… better I stay silent hahaha, hoping that with time it matures and becomes a proper stinker.

To everyone coming to read a review, forget the comment below. Whoever says it went bad must have olfactory fatigue… Summary: it smells delicious, it’s masculine, and I’ve received compliments at different times after wearing the perfume. If it lasts, if it projects. Use it in cool weather. Is it worth it? Yes, it’s a proper stinker.

  • Another gem from Givenchy. With this, you’re safe for a romantic date. Preferably at night and for cooler climates, of course; the blend of iris, cocoa, and sandalwood is what stands out most and is addictive to me. A bit more youthful than the GG EDP gem, but 100% recommended. Rating: 9/10.

I own a collection of perfumes from all brands and years, testing them everywhere with all my senses at full capacity: this is the best I have ever smelled in terms of quality. It has class; don’t be afraid to wear it with jeans and a t-shirt, or use it in extreme heat (I wear it below 32 degrees); it gives you security and confidence. It isn’t cloying like Rabanne; it’s a runway perfume. I find it super versatile. The ladies love it, looking at you with a certain discretion. One of the best I have tried.

  • Deliciously woody, it has a little note like expired lipstick with the debris when you sharpen a pencil, which wow, I love it. Very elegant.

  • With this scent you know everyone will like it. It has the perfect balance to go out at night, on a date or dinner. On a romantic date you’ll surely triumph.

  • The start smells great but loses strength instantly and has no projection, although I sprayed eight times. I thought about olfactory fatigue but it doesn’t happen to me with others in my collection (DHI, TF Ombre Leather, YSL Y, TF Noir Extrême, ADG Profondo…). The batch is from July 2023. I’ll keep testing it and if I get compliments I’ll tell you more.

  • The scent is top, that’s what made me buy it. But the performance is a disaster. I got it from an official distributor and if it weren’t for that, I’d swear it’s fake; it lasts nothing. I tested it on skin and clothes, with creams, even let it rest, and nothing, it stays the same. With others from the brand it lasts 12 hours. If you’re thinking of it, better try it first on skin.

  • Super rich aroma that I’m sure everyone will love, but the problem is it lacks potency. After minutes it’s already just a skin scent and lasts about four or five hours, but that lovely smell keeps fading.

  • I’ve just opened the October 2023 batch. Now the central band no longer has a wood texture, but a grey enamel tone inserted into the glass like the Reserve Privée. The scent is the same as previous editions, but softer than the EDP and the Reserve Privée, which I appreciate for having a less potent and more versatile option. It’s ambivalent: works perfectly as a signature scent in autumn, winter and spring, and in summer only for cool nights. Due to the dominance of woods, iris and dark bitter cacao, I wouldn’t wear it on warm nights or scorching days. The geranium has a mentholated nuance at the start; behind the pepper and coriander emerges a moderate pillar of mentholated herbs. After five minutes it transforms and reveals its treasure: iris and cacao followed by smoky woods. I fully agree with Javier Orgaz: his video describes Givenchy Gentleman Boisée exactly as it is. It dissipates slowly leaving a touch of vanilla patchouli. Projection: one hour. Longevity: about five hours without getting nose fatigue, eight on skin and five more on clothes. To my taste it’s a commercial ‘Cinderella’ that keeps prices low and avoids hikes. Don’t buy blind; better a 5ml decant to try it. In my case, to repeat sine die.

  • RenéVetiver

Honestly, this fragrance gave me a headache. The dry down is a cacao with iris that at times felt fatiguing.

  • Toño Dark

Oh dear, what a shame about the performance. It’s good and beautiful, but between the normal and the Reserve Privée, this is the ugly duckling. I put it on at 7 am and it almost disappeared by 1 pm. The longevity is about six hours, but what kills it is the projection: at most two hours, then only skin scent. You absolutely need a decant to reapply.

  • A real letdown. I bought it for the good price and an excellent discount, plus I wanted to complement the Reserve Privée, which I find exquisite. Although the scent is delicious, better than expected, the performance is lamentable: it lasts nothing, projects nothing, and isn’t felt on skin or clothes. Is this an eau fraîche? The only positive is that I got the 60ml presentation. What will be the creators’ vision in offering this? Try it on skin before buying; in one or two hours you’ll realise the performance.

  • How woody! Smells like wood dust, dry, with an almost imperceptible touch of dark chocolate. It’s exclusive for cold weather and nothing casual, yet it’s the most basic of the Gentleman line and doesn’t say much. The performance is weak: almost no projection and lasts about three hours on skin, then becomes very faint for another two. It’s a shame because the first batch was spectacular; after the reformulation, the fragrance is dead.

  • Victortor

I’ve enjoyed it. It’s halfway between the Intense and the Privee. It’s aromatic, not so dark. It opens very bright, loaded with spices. It dries logically with an elegant and slightly darker iris. I like it quite a bit like the other two in the line, but it falters on longevity and I won’t even mention projection. Although, given the price, I’m not going to ask too much. It smells very good.

  • Don’t worry, it happened to me too that it lasted little and projected a whisper… but let it macerate for a while. I used about 15 or 20 ml and left it to macerate for months; now it lasts 10 hours instead of 6. Easy, just wait a bit, mate. In fact, the aroma is more complex now, a feast for the senses. Perfect for going to work <3

  • Very good fragrance. It has a sharper and more different touch than the Extrême, and I like it.

  • sergiobinetti

I left it unused for a year and a half and tried it again two weeks ago; I liked it again. The notes are clear: a fresh and spicy opening (not piercing) that dries quickly into a powdery woody cocoa with iris (nothing feminine). It gives a warm sensation of cardamom, which is why it’s compared to the D&G ONE EDP. The problem is the performance, but this year it feels a bit more alive. Projects for an hour and a half, then leaves a trail; they say it still smells good after six hours. I can still smell it on my skin at eight hours, even on clothes worn for a day. It’s not a beast; you need to carry a decant to reapply if you want impact, because it’s subtle, but it has a guaranteed place in my wardrobe.

  • This is the kind of fine, elegant and classy fragrance that makes you instinctively know it’s quality. Fresh and spicy opening, well balanced with the iris. It feels stable, smelling the same from start to finish. It gives a sensation of very refined woody powder. Honestly, it lasts on me for at least six hours; afterwards it remains present but with less intensity, with bursts when I walk. Suitable for day and night, casual or well dressed. No shorts or short-sleeved shirts.

  • I had an old version which was my favourite, now it’s given me nostalgia and I bought it again. What a disappointment; it must be a reformulation, it smells like water. When freshly applied, it doesn’t last five minutes. I feel tremendously let down.

  • I own the entire Gentleman collection; each one is more wonderful than the last. This one is iris and wood, with a slightly smoky wood note. It smells clean, like a proper, well-made man, exactly what a man with taste should smell like. Ideal for autumn, winter and spring; for work, weekends, day or night. Some people reserve these ‘dark’ fragrances for evening wear, but with fewer sprays you’re ready for the day. If you don’t like the main note, change your nose, because this is smelling good, FULL STOP.

  • Well… I love the EDP on its own, it smells good, but as a whole it feels like ‘eh’. I’ll use it for the gym or grabbing a coffee at Oxxo in autumn and winter while I look for someone to swap it with. I wouldn’t buy it again.

  • To give you an idea, it’s a The One EDP with a touch of iris, nothing more. I’m still unsure about its longevity, but an update: terrible performance, projects for only 30 minutes and fades quickly; you only get noticed if someone smells your neck. Lasts a decent four hours. I don’t see much potential.

  • rafaelcd892

My all-time favourite: it smells like someone who knows what they want and has their life sorted. When I have children, I want this fragrance to be their memory of me.
