Descripción

Gentleman Society Eau de Parfum Ambrée by Givenchy is a woody oriental fragrance for men. This creation, signed by perfumer Olivier Cresp, was launched in 2025. Its composition opens with top notes of nutmeg, heliotrope and juniper berries; the heart reveals a harmony of iris root, narcissus, sandalwood, Madagascar vetiver and Haitian vetiver; and the base settles on tobacco, Madagascar vanilla and Peru balsam.

A super amazing perfume, incredible, it’s delicious but it’s for people who like this very masculine line from Givenchy and it’s the best in the Society line.

  • I discovered this new flanker thanks to a sample they gave me and I was impressed. It brings a sophisticated and distinctive air to the current designer landscape. From the first spray, it smells of characterful vanilla, nothing cloying, with a bourbon touch that subtly reminds me of Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford. But instead of following a gourmand line, the vanilla feels more mature and refined. In terms of performance, it doesn’t project excessively; it seems to be the intention. It’s not one of those scents that fills a room, but one that stays at a personal level, enveloping you in an elegant and distinguished aura. Anyone close will notice and appreciate it. From the sixth hour, it stays closer to the skin, leaving an intimate and enveloping trail. Another interesting point is its animal touch (which I perceive), which sets it apart from many recent designer fragrances. This nuance adds depth and seductive character, avoiding the generic. It shines especially in winter, but also goes well in spring and autumn with moderate use. Its warmth and elegance make it perfect for dates, formal events, or everyday wear if you’re looking for discreet but sophisticated presence. In short, this Gentleman Society Ambree is one of the best proposals of the year, combining versatility, elegance, and a distinctive scent. For me, it’s a guaranteed buy.

  • After trying the collection, I bought Reserve Privée and Ambree; these two are my favourites. Ambree is a perfume that both men and women enjoy; the notes are well balanced and none overpowers the others.

  • I have Gentleman Society, Extreme, and Ambree. For me, the best of all is the original, Gentleman Society. It’s perfect. It has a very good iris (though they don’t officially specify it) and in the base, a sweet, soft touch of vanilla. Super versatile, very feminine, balanced (unlike the Extreme), and precise. Second place goes to Society Gentleman Ambree. After several days, I like it more and more; it’s excellent, super sensual and addictive, perfect for a date, for seduction, sexy. Third place is the Extreme. It’s not an intense version of the original; it’s a different flanker. It has more depth and complexity, it’s more masculine and darker, but it’s not better. And you have to like the coffee note (I’m not sure if it’s actually coffee, it could be another accord). It reminds me of Paco Rabanne’s Black XS and the recent Dior Homme Parfum 2025. If you’re indifferent to or don’t like the coffee note, you’ll prefer the original. As I don’t like the coffee, the Extreme doesn’t improve on the original, so they aren’t redundant. I also have Gentleman Eau de Toilette Intense and the original is better. Same with the Gentleman Eau de Toilette with the pear accord; the original wins. I had Gentleman Reserve Privée and I think the tonka base or whatever it is smells horrible. I can’t stand the smell, so I had to sell it.

  • Well, what can I say… I tried it on my skin several times and the result was the same. The scent is very pleasant; the tobacco and vanilla are high quality. My main issue? TERRIBLE PERFORMANCE AND PROJECTION. Be careful, maybe it’s my skin, but the hype surrounding this perfume seems absolutely excessive.

  • On the skin, it reminded me a bit of Stronger With You (the EDT). It’s quite youthful and, to be honest, doesn’t have much personality to speak of.

  • I tried it at duty free. I like the iris scent and it feels complex, but the sensation was like a very thick soup where the alpha-irone (or whatever replicates the iris) dominates, before moving on to other molecules designed to stick where you sprayed. Pleasant but heavy. Perhaps the temperature would soften it if you sprayed it under the shirt, between the fabric and the sweater.

  • The Gentleman Society line by Givenchy is my favourite among designer perfumes; it always smells elegant and attractive. The Extreme already raised the bar with coffee and lily, but this new flanker surprised me: they’ve upped the aromatic quality. It’s hard for something almost perfect to improve, but they’ve done it here. You get the lily with an elegant, seductive tobacco note, one of my favourites, which balances everything and elevates the already established DNA. Performance is acceptable in terms of longevity and projection. Ideal for autumn, winter, and some spring days. It’s elegant, not just for special occasions, but for dressing up appropriately. I recommend it to anyone seeking sophistication and versatility.

  • RobgZack

I won’t break it down note by note as it always repeats, but it’s a warm, cosy scent that makes you want to sniff it over and over again. It makes you feel good and at peace. It’s more wearable and enjoyable than its predecessors, which are also excellent, but this one is more versatile without losing elegance. For me, one of the best launches of 2025.

  • It’s not for me. And that’s a shame, as I generally like the Givenchy Society/Gentleman line, especially the Extrême and the Réservé Privé. I thought I’d like it, but I’m not attracted to its scent, particularly the opening.

  • Excellent perfume, like almost all in the line. I’d say it’s the best that came out this year in designer fragrances. The only downside? The dry-down reminds me too much of the Réservé Privé. Still, I want it.

  • LunaeMons

I’m sorry, but it seems to me the weakest of the Society line. It doesn’t stand out in anything; while it’s a line that surprises little, the Extreme has its distinct identity well combined. Here it’s a mix of reminiscences of others, as noted above. It’s not ugly, but it ends up in no-man’s-land. Anyway, it seems many loved it, while others didn’t. So go and try it, there’s no other way. Cheers.

BRUTAL! It’s the undisputed queen of the Gentleman Society range. Smells absolutely delicious and super masculine, perfect for autumn, winter, and those crisp spring or early summer evenings. Longevity and projection are good, though it falls just short of a 10/10, so I’ll settle for a 9.

  • If you’ve ever loved the original Dior Homme, not the soft, generic version, this fragrance will pleasantly surprise you. It has that elegant, enveloping, and slightly powdery profile we’ve been missing since the original was discontinued. In fact, the Gentleman Society Ambrée not only recalls it but, in many aspects, surpasses it. It’s an excellent alternative and, personally, I even prefer it over the Dior Homme Intense. It’s more mature, darker, and has a refined trail that leaves a mark without being invasive. If you like the sophisticated, warm, and slightly sweet style of Dior Homme, this creation by Givenchy could be your new favourite. It has the right balance between the Gentleman Society Extrême and the Dior Homme.

  • The Givenchy Gentleman Society Ambrée has undoubtedly earned the title of my favourite perfume for party nights when I’m dressed to the nines. It exudes charisma, presence, and sophistication from the very first second. The opening is enveloping, with a warm, modern amber blending with spices and an elegant woody base. There’s something magnetic about its evolution: it maintains a sensual profile, slightly sweet but not cloying, perfect for standing out in nocturnal and formal settings. The longevity is fantastic: 8-10 hours with a projection that doesn’t go unnoticed but remains refined. It doesn’t invade, but it leaves a mark. It’s one of those that generates compliments and people asking ‘what are you wearing?’. For me, it’s the ideal balance between modern and classic, with an air of mystery and elegance. If you’re looking for class for events or dinners where you’re well-dressed, it’s a safe bet.

  • I took a 10ml decant and tried it this week. I didn’t have much faith in it at first because I’m not much of a Givenchy fan, but this edition has won my respect. Unlike the other Gentleman line scents, I do see this as suitable for someone under 25; it maintains elegance but takes it in a more youthful direction. 9/10.

  • It doesn’t quite match the Extreme; this Ambrée is sweet and balsamic from start to finish, whereas the other is dark and dry with a prominent vetiver note. I’m hooked on the Ambrée because of that evolution that makes you want to keep smelling your arm, or rather, those intermittent bursts it sends out. The only clear thing is Givenchy’s quality: natural scents, zero synthetics. If it lacks anything, it’s that it doesn’t fill the room, but I’d prefer that quality over something loud.

  • Scentmaster25

I’m keeping this for the future in case it serves someone. I tried it today comparing it to the Gentleman Eau de Parfum, which is my favourite, and nothing beats it. The first thing you notice is a well-present tobacco note from the start, balanced with a soft vanilla that isn’t cloying, which characterises the Society line. It’s much less versatile; I see it as a cold-weather and evening scent, whereas the first Society is perfect for spring. Even though I’m not an expert, it smells very well balanced. I disagree with those who equate it to the Réservé Privé; here there’s no whisky or chestnut, which are what sustain that boozy aroma of nuts and iris. Scent: 8.5/10. Longevity: seems to last 8-10 hours. Projection: good at first, then moderate, inviting people to come closer.

  • What a lovely perfume! Good longevity and trail, ideal for winter. Nothing new about it; it reminded me a lot of CH Pasion for Him. The iris is worked in the same way, so owning both is redundant. Rating: 8/10.

  • Alcazar_kb

I love taking a nap with it on in winter because it gives a lovely warmth; since I got it, I haven’t used a blanket. If you wear it out at night, people hug you without asking and say, ‘How nice it is to be with you, I love you’ (a colleague did this to me; I told him I was married and that he was at my wedding, but he didn’t care). I’m not lying.

  • William Thacker

Most people rate it as the best of 2025, but it sounds to me like they want to pass off designer scents as niche. It smells just like the Society Extreme, with a slight animalic touch and less sweetness; basically the same thing. Longevity is average, and on clothes it’s noticeable that it’s lower quality than on skin. The bottle is the only saving grace. My advice: buy the cheaper one. It’s overrated and lacks originality. 3/10.

  • Gustanadamas

A truly special fragrance. Without a doubt, the best of designer launches to date. It manages to be elegant and classy without feeling old or vintage, as that sweet opening note makes it notably modern and ideal for wearing well-dressed. Without a doubt a 10/10 that clearly competes with other formal perfumes like Reserve Privée or Dior Homme Intense, offering Society Ambrée significantly superior performance to both.

  • A very refined and modern fragrance, similar to its siblings, yet distinctive with iris, narcissus, and vetiver, all perfectly measured and balanced. It lasts several hours in a sweet, full floral phase before drying down to a very present, woody, powdery base. Truly luxurious, with a beautiful bottle, and yes, it’s worth it. So far from those triumphant cups and toy rays… Bravo Givenchy!

  • Gentleman Society Eau de Parfum Ambrée by Givenchy is a woody, amber and vanilla fragrance. It opens with a very pleasant sweet note, with slightly fresh nuances that don’t last long. As it develops, spicy and woody elements emerge; it gave me the sensation of a cappuccino with balsamic and vanilla touches. I think it’s suitable for autumn and winter, and special occasions, more for night than day. Its longevity has been excellent, lasting nearly nine hours, with a regular trail for the first hour and a half before gradually fading. This version is enjoyable, although from a distance it’s not as unique as it could be since it follows the trend of other woody and spicy scents like 1 Million, but with a more modern twist.

  • My favourite so far; I own more than forty perfumes. It’s the most elegant one I have, where it really competes with my Boss Bottled Absolu. This perfume screams ‘gentleman’ in its entirety. I bought it for events and elegant dates where I wanted to stand out. The only thing I don’t like is that its trail isn’t as high as its longevity. Otherwise, a 10/10. It’s not a blind buy; I feel it’s an acquired taste.

Gentleman Society Eau de Parfum Ambrée strikes a very refined balance between classic elegance and contemporary sensuality. It follows the sophisticated DNA of the Gentleman line but takes a warmer, more enveloping turn thanks to the amber, creamy vanilla and soft tobacco. It doesn’t shout, yet it leaves an impression. It is perfectly balanced: sweet without being cloying, warm without being heavy, elegant without being cold. The narcissus, vetiver and vanilla give it a comforting and sensual character, very attractive without tipping into excess. It has a ‘light niche’ vibe: it conveys quality and sophistication without being overly complex. Ideal if you’re new to high-end perfumery but don’t want something challenging like oud or animal leather. Perfect for cold afternoons and nights, autumn/winter, elegant dinners or seductive moments without seeming pretentious. It also works in temperate climates indoors or in the office, as its sillage is contained yet present. It’s aimed at mature men or elegant young men who prefer warm, sober scents without losing a modern edge. It’s also a great option for those tired of the typical blue DNA and looking for something more intimate but with presence. It could work well as a couple’s fragrance. It’s worth it if you’re seeking something enveloping and versatile within the warm-sweet style without losing class. A great choice if you already own fresh perfumes and desire something more sensual for special occasions. Always test on skin before buying the full bottle, as the projection varies considerably.

Not much to say: I bought the 60ml bottle and then the 100ml one a week later to have plenty in case it gets discontinued. A jewel, elegant, serious, formal and attractive. It’s a compliment bomb for both men and women. With the rubbish brands churn out, it’s refreshing to occasionally get a proper gentleman’s fragrance like this. For me, a 10/10.

  • What a beauty! I had fallen in love with Reserve Privée, which I find warmer. After meeting this one, it seems more youthful to me, a total showstopper.

  • Buy blind due to the hype. I’ve liked it. I own several Givenchys and this is my favourite by far, much better than Reserve Privée. They’re not my usual favourites; I admit it’s elegant, but I don’t feel it myself. Although I atomise quite a lot, I never run out of it except in summer or depending on the scent. It’s curious that it fades quickly; after four hours, I can’t even tell what it smells like. I’ll try again to see if it settles. The other three Givenchys I own behave the same way.

  • The launch of the year, absolute madness. The opening is unusual and slightly feminine, but trust me, wait twenty minutes and it becomes an experience. I started by ruling it out because of that, but then it transforms into something niche. In the end, the tobacco and Peru balsam emerge, an exquisite and very masculine blend. I’ll keep updating this review because, more than what I sprayed on my arm, it’s a supremely elegant fragrance.

  • A great tobacco, sex, and balsamic-amber base fragrance. It came out a bit pricey, but it can be found for 40/50 euros sometimes; it’s well worth it.

  • What a magnificent perfume! Truly… spectacular vanilla-tobacco… and add that it smells very masculine, those kinds where you know you’ll stand out as soon as you put it on. For my taste, it works perfectly on cold days and especially at night. For a romantic date, it’s incredible… it has that warm, attractive, and slightly mysterious touch that draws attention without being excessive. In summary, highly recommended if you want to smell different and leave a very good impression. Rating: 9.0/10.

  • claudespeed72

Very mature aroma. For gentlemen over 30 TOTAL. Young people under 18 should abstain from this perfume.

  • Emerson Aldair

Okay, I like these versions of the Society line because they don’t resemble each other, so you can own them all without repetition. To start, for many fragrance addicts, this might smell mainstream, but believe me, when people outside this world try it, they automatically reject it; it sits at level 1 of ‘complex’ perfumes. I think it’s that smoky, slightly dirty tobacco and resin aspect, but then there’s that sweet amber side with the spiciness of the nutmeg giving it an interesting duality. Just for that complexity in a year full of rehashes, I’m glad to have it. Personally, I prefer the Extreme for its dry, talc-like, and woody aroma, but this isn’t bad at all for dates or special events, yes, for 27 years and up, 8/10.

  • What a perfume! I took advantage of an offer and I’m so glad I did. Very masculine and proven to be a hit with women; that touch of tobacco and iris gives it a mysterious and attractive air, with just enough vanilla to prevent it from being cloying. It invites closeness. I don’t know the Extreme or the first Society, and honestly, I don’t notice it being very similar, only slightly due to the iris and narcissus in the base. I’ve read harsh reviews, but in my case, the longevity is very good, over 7 hours, let alone when applied to clothes, where it lingers for hours. Ideal for the evening, though perhaps also for formal daytime occasions or special events. Even on non-humid spring or summer nights, I can wear it because it’s not cloying. Totally Gentleman.

  • StarlinCollado

I love the Gentleman line. I own the Reserve Privée and the EDT, tried the Boisée and the EDP, and I like them all, so I bought this on recommendation. At first sniff, it didn’t grab me much as it feels different from the classic DNA, but with wear… I fell in love. It has an addictive, elegant, and controlled masculine sweetness. It’s one of those fragrances that makes you keep smelling your arm all day without getting tired of it. It’s not cloying and is well-constructed. Performance is quite good: not a huge projection, but it lasts 8 hours on skin, which is correct for this type of fragrance. It improves with age, and if you like Gentleman, it’s worth understanding and wearing.

  • FramuelPeña

I have no words; it’s the peak of elegant men’s fragrance. I’ve always supported Givenchy and Dior for their unique scents that Arabian brands simply can’t replicate. But this one went straight to my heart: the opening nutmeg makes it welcoming, and the fine pipe tobacco combined with creamy vanilla makes it, for me, the best perfume of 2025. I say it myself, a young reviewer who doesn’t want to call it the best in history.

  • It opens with a strong nutmeg that gives it total presence, followed by tobacco at the 15-minute mark. The nutmeg remains, providing the base; as for the tobacco, it’s very refined, nothing animalistic, and anyone would enjoy it. At 45 minutes, the vanilla appears softly, but not sweetly, blending seamlessly with everything. Without a doubt, a classy fragrance.

  • Aka_Kaiser22

To be honest, I bought it purely due to the hype, but it doesn’t live up to the promise. It smells odd, a chaotic mix of tobacco, spices, talc, and wood where nothing quite fits. Unlike its sibling, Reserve Privée, which is pure elegance, this feels bulky, lacking standout notes, with just a marked tobacco and a strong spicy kick at the outset. There’s no vanilla, only a very soft talc in the base alongside the typical Gentleman woods. The projection is poor, lasting just 3-4 hours with virtually no trail. It’s overrated, and there are better options for the price. If you’re after elegance, go for the Reserve Privée instead.
