Smells lovely on blotter, but unfortunately caused a small allergic rash on my wrist.
Approaching fragrances from Prin Lomros always feels exciting and builds anticipation. Mriga means stag in Sanskrit, and here the perfumer attempts to recreate genuine stag musk alongside scents from its natural habitat, a difficult feat. After the first sniff, you realise how well the synthetic stag musk accord has been achieved. This note takes centre stage, accompanied initially by fresh, green notes that remind me of conifers. The musk scent, ever-present, becomes more prominent as it dries down, allowing us to savour its nuances: sweet, slightly powdery, with hints of fur, clean, and an extraordinary warmth that makes it addictive and intriguing, inviting repeated sniffs. If I must find a fault, it’s the lime peel; to my nose, combined with the musks, it can occasionally give off a very faint detergent-like aroma. It has excellent longevity and a good trail without becoming too overpowering, despite being a dense formula. It has a classic touch due to its focus on musk, so lovers of this note will adore it. It’s not my usual style, but undoubtedly it’s a great perfume and worth trying for its execution and success in recreating such a complex scent as stag musk. Cheers.
