Wild Carrot Oud smells like carrot coffee, exactly the autumn we imagine in the north. It’s a bitter carrot cake with leather and oud. I love aggressive, animalic perfumes like Last Season or Karíkia, and this heads down that path. It doesn’t smell like ‘cheesy’ or ‘mineral’ oud, but rather leather. If you don’t like oud, try a decant or buy it in a boutique before spending, but if you’re looking for something rare, you’ll love it.

It’s basically Camel Oud at 99%, but with carrot at the start that quickly yields to a potent, wild, smoky, acrid, and dusty oud. It has brutal performance and a very fair price. Highly recommended if you like oud and powerful perfumes that can still be worn daily.

Although I love Bohoboco’s proposals, this hasn’t won me over. The fault lies in my personal aversion to oud, not that it’s a bad perfume. I distinguish three types of oud: the woody and sweet one I adore, the ‘stable’ one I sometimes like, and this one, which smells of petrol, fuel, tyre rubber, lubricant, and a mechanic’s workshop. It starts with warm carrot juice, cinnamon, and citrus, but seconds later that petrol-tinged, smoky, leather oud dominates and prevents me from enjoying it. The trail is notable and lasts 11-12 hours. My partner says it’s perfect for repelling people, not attracting them. I wouldn’t wear it on a first date. With more olfactory education, I’ve appreciated it, but I wouldn’t use it. For lovers of oud with leather, it’s an original alternative thanks to its sweet base. Scent 3/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 8.5/10, Value for money 7.5/10, Versatility 2/10, Packaging 7/10. I wouldn’t buy it.
