Chasing the Sun: Sunlit Petals with a Resinous Glow

Chasing the Sun from Dossier is an Oriental Floral made for both women and men, centred on the feeling of warm skin in bright light. It begins with tropical freshness before softening towards resin and musk.

Coconut, bergamot, plum and a sand accord shape the first impression. The fragrance then moves into orange blossom, ylang-ylang, tuberose and sambac jasmine at its core.

The opening is at once zesty and creamy. Bergamot lends a citrus sparkle that lightens the coconut, while plum contributes a rounded, succulent fruitiness. The sand accord suggests dry, sun-kissed warmth rather than anything stony or mineral.

At the heart, the bouquet is full-bodied and predominantly white, touched with golden floral tones. Tuberose and sambac jasmine supply richness and a gentle opulence, orange blossom keeps the composition luminous, and ylang-ylang adds a creamy, faintly exotic polish.

Towards the base, vanilla and benzoin bring a measured sweetness, myrrh introduces a balsamic richness, and patchouli offers a subtle earthy grounding. Musk smooths the blend and helps it linger with a soft, clean finish.

Taken together, the scent favours sweet, vanilla-like, amber and warm spicy facets, underpinned by a whisper of citrus. Its presence is rounded rather than sharp — sensual and comforting — and shows to best advantage worn close.

It should appeal to those who favour cosy, sweet white florals in which coconut and vanilla dissolve into amber. Well suited to wearers seeking a shared, unisex Oriental Floral with a creamy, balsamic character instead of a green or soapy style.

True to its title, Chasing the Sun travels from sparkling tropical light to a mellow amber base. Floral, sweet and gently resinous, it offers a distinctive and easily shared expression of Dossier’s Oriental Floral style.
