I only perceive it as a sharp sea scent that dominates everything. From the very start, that saline and damp note takes over, obscuring all else. It’s the kind of aroma that goes unnoticed on the beach, as if it were the surroundings themselves. It’s not unpleasant, but I don’t like it; there’s no contrast or evolution to hold my interest. This is all in the opening, and although it lingers a little, once it settles I can detect the coconut and rose from the notes list; I would love to smell the vanilla, but my nose can’t pick it up. I understand why others might enjoy it: it conveys freshness, naturalness, and a nostalgic or relaxing maritime authenticity. It’s not for me, but it has its audience.
