Roman VII by Maison Alhambra is a Leather fragrance for Men and Women. Its character rests on tension between verdant freshness and inviting warmth.
A green, spiced lift gives way to a woody leather heart, resting upon a balsamic, earthy foundation touched with smoke.
At the top are galbanum, pink pepper, cardamom, nutmeg and fenugreek. Galbanum provides a crisp green accent, pink pepper and cardamom bring bright spice, and nutmeg lends aromatic depth. Fenugreek contributes a warm, subtly earthy undertone.
The middle brings oud wood, patchouli, ambroxan, leather and grey amber together. The blend grows richer and more timbered at this stage, keeping leather firmly in focus. Ambroxan and grey amber lend a mineral, cocooning warmth.
Underneath lie costus, Muscona, sandalwood, olibanum incense (frankincense) and cypriol (nagarmotha). Sandalwood offers a smooth, balsamic softness, whilst incense and cypriol introduce earthy, smoky facets with a whisper of animalic character.
Taken as a whole, it travels from fresh spice and greenery towards wood, leather and warm spice, edged with aromatic, balsamic and smoky tones. The result is a green-resinous interpretation of leather, unisex in spirit and free of overt sweetness.
It should appeal to wearers who favour textured leather with spice and woods, and to those drawn to unisex compositions that feel earthy, balsamic and faintly smoky in the evening or cooler months.
Roman VII presents green-spiced leather maturing into oud, grey amber and incense. Faithful to its Leather family, it finishes with sandalwood, Muscona and dry earthy notes for a warm, composed close.
