Alien Essence Absolue puts me in a state of euphoric nerves; it is such a lush, enveloping jasmine that I want it above all else. It’s a shame they discontinued it, those divine perfumes that make me so happy. Thanks to Señora Border, I found an inspiration I adore. Please, recreate this delicious, creamy, and enveloping scent again, a jasmine so creamy I’m dying for it.

I absolutely love this perfume: the fragrance is soft yet long-lasting, ideal for any occasion. I always receive compliments whenever I wear it.

The best Alien flanker ever; it’s so sad they discontinued it… PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!! 😭

  4. Espartaco

It’s the same Alien as always with a very evident honey note. The projection and longevity are excellent, just like the original, so adding those woody and balsamic floral notes with a touch of non-gourmand sweetness, it’s understandable why so many women have become hooked on this flanker. It’s not complex or novel, just Alien with a caramel-honey hint. Totally unisex as usual, it lasts a long time, performs beautifully, and adds the detail of balsamic, honeyed myrrh. Not much more to say.

I managed to get this sealed, never-used relic almost by chance. Personally, I’m much happier with the regular Alien. They are similar only in the type of jasmine. This perfume takes another direction that may not please everyone, and possibly for that reason it was discontinued. It has a very marked balsamic aspect and is slightly smoky. It conquers much more than the regular Alien. The hype created by some discontinued perfumes is tremendous. In this case, it smells good, it’s good, it’s different from the common… To me, it projects less and doesn’t last as well as its brother. And without going further, Goddess Intense seems even more intense to me. That’s all. It’s not worth creating such anxiety over this perfume. If you have the first Alien, I say you’ll be equally satisfied even without the Essence. If you’re a collector freak, okay, but to me, other perfumes make me much happier than the scent this one has. Edit: In its dry down, it has a PlayDoh-style vanilla, similar to that of a Hypnotic Poison.

I gave this beauty a 20/10, which has become one of my favourites. And truly, whenever I want to write about my beloved perfumes, words fail me. I’ll just say that this was the first perfume I decided to buy based on a YouTube review (from those who have been doing it for years and know what they’re talking about, unlike all the others who just appear and sell you the perfume of the moment), and her recommendation couldn’t have been more spot on. What a wonderful, perfect perfume, one that intoxicates, lasts a long time, an ambered jasmine, with that touch of vanilla and the elegance of cashmere. WOW. My favourite of all Mugler by far, and of my entire life, definitely in the top 10. What a shame it was discontinued; seriously, I’ll never understand how they take sublime beauties off the shelves and then introduce something like Alien Goddess, for example, which is a joke of a perfume with zero longevity. The perfume world is sometimes so unfair.

I got a sample of this perfume and thought they had made a mistake because I thought it was Alien, which I hate, but then I started smelling a background vanilla, which with the Alien jasmine that I detest so much turns out to be gorgeous. I do sense the myrrh and incense a little bit. It evokes a sunny but cold autumn day 🍂☀️💜

Does it deserve all the hype? In my opinion, yes. And that’s because I firmly believe that the best Alien flankers are all discontinued. If you know the original, I think the description of this perfume is more or less easy to imagine. Picture that but in a softer, velvety version, and at the same time with an overdose of refined, balsamic vanilla. Contrary to what some think, for me this is less opulent and polarising than the original. Performance is outstanding. If you still have the option to try it… run. You won’t regret it.

I’m not sure if it’s the humidity in my country, Argentina, but I don’t feel it projects much; however, it fixes very well, and you can definitely notice the quality of the perfume, especially the vanilla, which is very, very natural and exquisite. But I’m not a fan of vanilla, and for me, it’s not worth the price they ask for it. It’s a special perfume, but it didn’t touch my heart.

Sometimes I feel they discontinue or reformulate the best perfumes, which is a shame. This is my favourite Mugler, alongside Angel Muse; if I had to keep only ten, these two would be in. Alien Essence Absolue is very similar to Alien but warmer, sweeter, and more oriental. To that otherworldly jasmine are added cashmere wood, amber, myrrh, and vanilla. Over time, the jasmine steps back, letting the amber and a wonderful, enveloping vanilla take centre stage. I detect a hint of anise, probably from the blend. It is intoxicating, sexy, powerful, feminine, and luminous—so pleasant and warm it feels like a hug on a cold day. It has a beautiful evolution, is very long-lasting, and has moderate sillage (though I own the reformulated version). I wish they would bring it back as a special edition; I’d buy it again in a heartbeat. It’s sad to see it fade into oblivion. P.S.: If you love it, I recommend Federico Mahora’s equivalent. It smells identical, lasts over 10 hours, and is my alternative since it’s no longer worth paying the outrageous prices.

Alien Essence Absolue Intense is a good fragrance, very similar to the Alien Original but with vanilla. If I had heard of this before, I wouldn’t have bought it, as the incense and myrrh are not felt; it’s just Alien’s jasmine with vanilla. To be honest, I prefer the original! I paid over €200 and have better perfumes in my collection. In my opinion, we idealise it because it is discontinued. It is a good perfume, but if I have to pay that much, I’d prefer many others. This is Alien: buy a vanilla and two sprays of Alien on one side and two more of a good vanilla like Kayali 28; it works better.

Everything said about this fragrance is true. I say this because, at least in my country, it has become mythical among perfume lovers. It is rarely available, but everyone says it smells exquisite. And it does; it is an elixir, an olfactory delight. Similar to traditional Alien because you can perceive those characteristic jasmines, but with a high dose of resins and vanilla. As time passes, the sweetness of the vanilla and the amber notes intensify, leaving the flowers behind. It has eternal longevity and medium projection.

It is a perfume with very high-quality, intense, and warm jasmine, balanced with an elegant, slightly sweet vanilla, accompanied by an amber that makes it creamy and seductive. In addition to lily root and myrrh, it makes it a unique perfume worth getting. I do not detect the incense or cashmere note on my skin. Its sillage is heavy, longevity is over 10 hours, it is unisex, suitable for any season, although its sensuality makes it more tempting in cold and night climates. A blind buy that was a success, one I would certainly repeat.

It seems like a work of art. It has great similarity with the Alien original, especially in the first few minutes, where the jasmine is sharper and more noticeable, but as it dries down it becomes warmer, with vanilla, amber, incense, and myrrh predominating without losing the original’s DNA. I see myself wearing it on a very cold winter day, with a scarf, in a cabin or in the mountains, near a fire. Its scent of incense and myrrh transports me to that winter scene. It is cozier and warmer than the original; whereas I see the latter for any season, this is not for Alien Essence Absolue. The original seems more versatile. If you like the Alien original, vanilla, and incense, I recommend it with my eyes closed. It is discontinued but can still be found on some websites or second-hand pages. I bought it blind and it was a complete success. It is spectacular and I love it.

Horrible. It was a blind buy because it is already discontinued, following the good reviews I had read, but it turned out to be very intrusive and an unpleasant smell. I tried to like it, but it was impossible. It is the type of perfume you must try before buying, because I think you either love it or hate it. In matters of taste, nothing is written in stone, but definitely it is a NO for me.

  16. LUCERO FIL

Reading wonderful reviews about this fragrance, I expected a bit more from it. It is very similar to classic Alien; its sillage and longevity are not as strong as described. So far, it hasn’t managed to dethrone my Burberry Black. The characteristic Alien jasmine scent predominates with a soft vein of vanilla and amber. It is not a bad perfume, but if you know classic Alien, this flanker won’t dazzle you entirely.

I bought it because I loved its scent. And I waited for winter to use it without regrets, as for summer its scent is super strong. But when the cold arrived and I wore it, I felt it tired me out. I have to apply very little to tolerate it. I am disappointed because it was very expensive and it fatigues me.

I call this a work of art worth investing in. It is a flanker with sense that, in my opinion, has nothing to envy the original, though undoubtedly it carries its DNA. The opening is powerful and the dry-down is an incredibly delicious vanilla that will accompany you all day. The concentration of essential oils is high; a Mugler employee told me it was between 20-22%. That is why you do not need more than four sprays. It is appropriate for low temperatures. In short, a jewel that both men and women should try. Scent 9/10, Sillage 9/10, Longevity 9/10.

I had the chance to buy it at an excellent price, and what luck I had!! At first, it smells very much like the Alien original, which, by the way, never fully convinced me, but little by little the jasmine gives way to a soft vanilla that sweetens it, mixed with incense, which does not darken it but results in an intoxicating and very luminous scent. It does remind me of JPG’s Classic Essence, I don’t know why. The longevity is extraordinary (thanks Mugler), and although it may seem intense, it does not overwhelm in summer now. I am delighted😍

It’s my first Alien and a total stroke of luck to have snagged it on sale. It projects strongly with a vintage vibe, but the jasmine and vanilla soften it into honeyed white flowers. Intense, feminine, and elegant; if I had to pick one word, it would be ‘elegant’. The trail and longevity are top-notch: I wore it last night and can still smell it at noon today when I move. I adore this concentrate and wouldn’t trade it for anything.

  21. Although it carries the DNA of the original, it’s not just another flanker; it has so much character that it stands on its own. Less overwhelming, softer, and easier to wear if you can’t handle the classic Alien. At first, you notice the classic jasmine mixed with gardenia, which softens it and adds creaminess. Heliotrope provides almond and anise sparkles, while cashmere wood and soft myrrh ground it, making it carnal and authentic. The base is a sweet, rich, dense vanilla, nothing cloying, with woody amber. Subtle incense notes warm it up and make it more resinous. Unlike its sisters, it’s more feminine, intimate, and velvety. An exquisite elixir for special events, dates, or cold evenings. The juice is potent and turns a dark amber colour, so be careful with light clothing. The bottle is heavy, ergonomic, and refillable. It’s a warm oriental amber scent. The vanilla has a gourmand touch with hints of honey, cinnamon, and anise. The trail is impressive and longevity reaches up to 8 hours. It reminds me of the vanilla base of Avon’s Far Away and Gaultier 2. It’s like a curvy, approachable girl, generous and luminous, dazzling with chic, pin-up air. A heart of gold.

Intense jasmine with sweet vanilla that doesn’t cloy, all wrapped in amber. I don’t detect the myrrh, but I’m grateful that Mugler continues to create complex, characterful fragrances. I hope they don’t follow the trend of light, fleeting scents. Ideal for semi-formal or formal occasions; it’s more nocturnal but works well for work if you’re a determined, authoritative woman. It leaves a trail in meetings and offices. Longevity and projection are excellent, as we’ve come to expect from Thierry Mugler.

Finally I have it; the bottle is the most beautiful of all the Aliens. The scent is similar to the original (same DNA) but much creamier, more intimate, and elegant. It’s excellent for wearing without annoying anyone, ideal for those who don’t dare try the other because it’s more striking. On the skin, the notes of amber and jasmine are unmistakable, with a delicious gourmand aspect but nothing intrusive. If you love strong perfumes, choose the original; if you prefer something sober and sensual, this is for you. I expected something different and bought it blindly; despite being a delight, I think for me it’s easier to wear the original because my skin softens the notes a lot, and with this one, after three hours, I think only I can perceive it.

I saw it come out online many times, but I was so in love with my Alien EDP that it didn’t catch my attention. I was gifted a sample of Alien Essence Absolue and must admit that smelling it in the bottle it just smelled like Alien. It was when I applied it to my skin that I noticed how wonderful it is. It keeps the original DNA and managed to improve something that was already perfect. It’s like an Alien wrapped in a velvet blanket with an overdose of vanilla, very cosy and intoxicating. I agree with SeleneHdez: the opening has a hint of root beer and I sense a touch of creamy chocolate (even though it’s not listed in the notes). The only drawback is how difficult it will be to get hold of. Wide trail and extraordinary longevity.

For a week I wore Alien Essence Absolue instead of Opium Black, and it was the best change. I liked the original Alien but felt cold and distant, as if it were a perfume for successful, strict women I didn’t identify with. AEA keeps that base but adds creamy vanilla, exotic myrrh, and nocturnal incense, making it warm, sweet, and obsessive. It’s intense, vibrant, and lasts about 10 hours, creating a cloud around you. It’s a younger version, less rigid but just as potent, ideal if you like Alien but don’t dare to wear it. It’s already my signature for its good humour and quality. If Alien doesn’t suit you but you like it, try its flankers; you’re sure to find your version.

Alien Essence Absolue is the little sister of Alien, a sweet flanker dedicated to those who can’t quite pull off the original or want to vary their scent. It has that beautiful Mugler vanilla, without being cloying, and an intense heart. It’s the perfect option if you don’t dare with Alien: it’s like wearing a Doberman that has been soothed and licks passers-by, yet remains beautiful, potent, and balanced. Mugler uses everything very well, with good longevity and trail. It’s original, classy, and powerful. A flanker that shows its origins but has something extra that makes it attractive. Another great discovery.

I’m dying to try it, it’s not available here, so my hope is to find it when I go travelling. I love the original Alien and adore the notes listed on the website. Does anyone know if the liquid is yellow or if it looks darker in the bottle? I see it very dark online and I’m scared it might be expired. I’m so desperate that I’d even consider buying it blindly.

Good afternoon, I’ve wanted this fragrance for a year and today I finally have it! I tested it in several perfumeries and used up the samples as if they were liquid gold (what a beautiful colour it is). If I like it so much, how did I buy other perfumes instead of this one? Has it happened to you that the dream is so beautiful you don’t want to wake up? Alien Essence Absolue happened to me; I feared that possessing it would make the dream vanish, but it didn’t, it came true. It’s very hot today, but as evening falls, I sprayed this perfume and I’m going for a long walk. In general, it evolves better in winter, but it will be intoxicating on summer nights, like jasmine in midsummer. I won’t detail the components (they’re visible), but each is a ‘jewel’. In me, jasmine, vanilla and amber stand out. I suppose the myrrh and incense add longevity and a special touch. The trail and longevity are very good. My best note has become one of my favourites. Greetings to YLLA for the beautiful odes you write! Greetings to everyone.

It’s a more potent version than Alien; for me, it’s almost an addictive wonder. It has become one of my favourite perfumes; it envelops me with that vanilla and jasmine scent, lasts for hours, and leaves an incredible trail for those of us who don’t want to go unnoticed. It’s very hard to find in Chile, so I treasure it and buy it whenever I see it on a trip. Wonderful is the minimum I can say about this intoxicating elixir.
