Descripción
1 Million Cologne by Rabanne is a woody-spicy fragrance for men. Launched in 2015, this composition was created by Olivier Pescheux and Michel Girard. The top notes reveal a marine freshness with citrus, tangerine and cardamom; the floral and fruity heart is built around rose and juniper berries; while the base notes anchor the essence with patchouli, tonka bean and leather.

Quite fresh; it retains the essence of the original One Million but is less sweet and more citrusy. Recommended for daytime. I liked it.
Very fresh, it keeps the essence of the original One Million but is less sweet and more citrusy. Ideal for daytime wear. I liked it.
I’m looking forward to it! I’m getting it delivered on Friday. I tried it in a shop and liked it: it’s citrusy but with a sweet base, ideal for summer. We’ll see how it turns out.
I’m waiting for it. They’re delivering it this Friday! I tried it in a store and liked it. Citrusy but with a sweet base, ideal for summer. Let’s see how it turns out.
The fragrance has arrived! I love it! It has the sweetness of the original with the right touch of citrus. Good fixation, good trail, fresh and pleasant. Good price-quality-size ratio. Honestly, I was surprised! Let’s see how it behaves in summer. Here in Buenos Aires, Argentina, it’s still cold; we’ll see what results I get with the heat. An ideal perfume for work hours or informal outings, also for everyday wear. I recommend it!
Unlike the original, which is simply 1 Million in EDT, this one I found acceptable, though nothing is perfect. Initially, it has a semi-sweet and somewhat generic opening, similar to a CK Eternity or a Carlo Corinto Live (a vertical blue bottle not pictured here), as if it were a blend of both. It stayed this way with a medium trail for the first three hours. Then it changed to something better: a more woody and less sweet sensation. From that point on, I started to like it; I could almost recommend it if not for the trail dropping considerably. It maintained that woody and elegant scent for another three hours, but with little projection. In total, it lasted six hours: three with a medium trail and three with a low one. It’s as if there are two fragrances in one. I loved the second phase, but due to the low trail, I wouldn’t recommend it. Suitable for over 25s and intermediate climates. Given its resemblance to Eternity and CC Live at the start, it could work for temperate climates, and with the woody scent afterwards, for cooler ones, although it’s very close to the skin.
I don’t know about you, but this fragrance smells delicate, almost feminine. If you think it’s a less potent One Million, it isn’t. It’s soft, very similar to a discreet women’s perfume. I wouldn’t recommend it because it neither promises nor projects, and the scent lacks masculinity. The One Million, though synthetic in some notes, gives a good masculine trail, but this Cologne is a big mistake.
You know what? This fragrance smells delicate, almost feminine. If you think it’s a One Million that’s just not powerful, it isn’t. It’s soft, very much like a discreet women’s perfume. I wouldn’t recommend it because it doesn’t promise or project, and the scent doesn’t show masculinity. The One Million, although synthetic in some notes, gives a good masculine trail, but this Cologne is a big mistake.
Okay, this one I actually liked. I’d grown tired of the One Million, so when this came out, it was a stroke of genius. It’s delicate yet intense, with something like mint that refreshes amidst all the wood and leather. I like it; it’s very rich!
There’s not much to say about 1 Million Cologne that others haven’t written. This version is a bit lighter than the original; its citrus and floral opening is very pleasant, but it doesn’t last long. It then moves to a floral and spicy phase where the rose takes centre stage. The dry-down is very similar to the regular: leather and tonka vanilla that maintain the sweetness, though with a less intense patchouli. Despite being called a Cologne, I think it’s still more suitable for fresh climates, night outings, or dates, although it has a more dynamic personality. I’d recommend it for those who found the regular too intrusive; it’s easy to wear and suits a wide range of ages.
There isn’t much to say about 1 Million Cologne that hasn’t already been said. It’s slightly lighter than the original, with a very pleasant citrus and floral opening, though it doesn’t last long. It then moves into a floral and spicy phase where the rose takes centre stage. The dry-down is the same as the regular version: tonka leather and vanilla that maintain the sweetness, but with a less intense patchouli. Despite being called Cologne, I think it’s still better suited to fresh climates, night outings, or for couples, though it has a more dynamic personality. I’d recommend it if the regular version felt too intrusive; it’s easy to like and suits almost any age.
Of course, it’s from the same family, but the scent doesn’t seem as rounded as in the Intense; it lacks power and projection. But as always, at a good price, it’s an acceptable option. Scent 6/10, versatility 8/10, trail 6/10, longevity 5/10.
It carries the DNA of the classic One Million, but here there are aquatic and citrus notes instead of wood, cinnamon, and amber. I quite like it; the only drawback is that the rose gives it a feminine vibe. It lasts six hours with a two-hour trail. Perfect for the beach and sports. I’d give it 7.5/10.
As already mentioned, this isn’t what one would expect from a Cologne. It feels more mature than the original, yet retains that sweet essence of the line. The first thing I noticed was rose and honey. Although honey isn’t listed, it smells just like the Black XS Be A Legend from the same house. Despite the prominent rose, it’s not a feminine scent at all; rather, it has that aggressive floral quality often found in some oriental fragrances.
I had many expectations with this cologne, but it didn’t convince me. It’s a fragrance of full-blown roses, which I notice is not very masculine; wearing it reminds me of women’s perfumes. It’s not for me.
I had high expectations for this cologne, but it didn’t convince me. It’s a fragrance full of roses, which I find not very masculine; wearing it reminds me of women’s perfumes. It’s not for me.
To me, it smells like walnut cake, the opposite of many reviews. I don’t see it as feminine at all; it’s spiced and reminds me very faintly of things like Tom Ford Noir for women, but much lighter. Where is the citrus? It’s not fresh, it’s strong, masculine and leans towards unisex. It’s not floral, it’s spiced, oriental type with a predominance of walnut; on my skin the first hour smells of very strong walnut (I hated it), but after two hours it becomes lighter, vanilla-like and less heavy, something more unisex but not as feminine as they say (they exaggerate). The scent isn’t original, rich at the opening yes and a lot, in fact I fell in love with the sexy initial aroma, but once it adheres to the skin it becomes spiced. Afterwards it smells like many other cheaper and common ones. The bottle is much better than the original. The most delicious phase is the second, from the hour and a half. It has medium-low trail and lasts 3 hours; from two and a half hours it’s skin-scented and then disappears. Its pros are that it’s better than many colognes (like those from Gucci which are mediocre and last 10 minutes). If you want to smell like sweet walnuts or walnut cake, this is yours. Recommended yes, depending on how you take it, it’s rich and wearable, even in heat, but more delicious in the cold. I liked it because it’s less generic than the original. In its dry-down it smells very similar to Montblanc Emblem.
It starts with an explosion of orange, roses and spices that clash a bit at first on the nose. As it dries, it remains citrus/floral and ends up skin-scented with something amber and woody. At first, it didn’t convince me, but using it I’ve received several compliments from girls. I’d give it a 7/10.
At first, the rose dominates and the opening can sound a bit feminine. As it dries, it becomes sweet with that typical touch of the original. I was fascinated by the dry-down: sweet and delicate.
At first, it smells citrusy and quickly moves to floral with a watery touch. I quite liked the fragrance; at first I felt it was more of a citrus scent, but it evolved and I loved it more with time. It’s subtle, nothing scandalous, and sober for everyday wear. Its projection and longevity are moderate. It’s soft, but noticeable at a short distance. I didn’t have many expectations, but it delivered what it promised: a daily-use cologne. I liked it.
At first, it’s pure citrus, but soon it flows into the floral with an aquatic touch. I loved it: at first I thought it was another one, but over time it evolved and I liked it a lot. It’s subtle, nothing strident, sober and perfect for every day. Its projection and longevity are moderate; it smells soft but is noticeable at a short distance. I didn’t have many expectations, but it fulfilled what it promised: a daily cologne. I liked it!
It’s too late to regret its discontinuation. It’s not because it’s a marvel, but because it’s perfect for hot days if you want the One Million DNA without feeling stifled. It manages to maintain the scent of the original by swapping the sweet and leather notes for a marine one, highlighting the rose to make it lighter and more wearable in that season.
Now that it’s been discontinued, it’s a bit late to review it properly. It’s not a masterpiece, but it’s perfect for hot days if you want to wear the One Million DNA without being too overpowering. It manages to keep the original scent by swapping the sweet notes and leather for a marine note and highlighting the rose to make it lighter and more wearable in that season.
I can imagine the surprise of One Million fans upon finding this ‘Cologne’, the third flanker after Absolutely Gold and Intense, the softest of all, intended for summer although I see it as more spring-like and very different from the original, which I never liked. It’s a rarity in a sweet and extroverted line. On my skin, the rose stands out, sharp and clean, with vintage accords that don’t overwhelm it. It comes out with strong but fast citrus, then an aquatic accord emerges, almost cologne-like, reminiscent of Invictus Aqua but without the sweetness, something shy but perceptible. In the first hour it’s noticeable, then it drops to skin level and becomes more noticeable on clothes. As it dries, a touch of synthetic skin and light patchouli appears, adding complexity to that constant rose. It’s an underrated flanker, perhaps too floral for followers. I heard it was discontinued, so I feel fortunate to have this launch bottle with that cool design: the gold bar becomes translucent to give freshness, with just a gold foil that reflects the soul of the line.
We always hit the same snag, but in the end, I always win. That happened with the 1 Million Cologne by Paco Rabanne: after years of clashes, it became my favourite for escaping the infernal heat. I had it in my shopping basket because I craved it, even though critics unjustly accused it of being too feminine. The bottle is spectacular, perhaps the most exquisite in the line, but on my skin it smelled like a disaster: zero chemistry, a mix of fruits, sea, roses and leather (what on earth?). I bought two huge bottles taking advantage of the overstock at Pigmento; my old man tried one and said it smelled more feminine than masculine. A friend also bought one for her son, and when he praised the perfume, he smiled mischievously at me: ‘Friend, it’s the Cologne!’. There was no hope; it was anchored in my bag with my vintages waiting for the planets to align. Every spray on my wrist was a disappointment; the wick got wet and the magic didn’t appear. YOU HAVE TO GET OUT OF MY LIFE, COLOGNE! Months passed, I moved from the city of fury to a fresher, less humid area, and paraphrasing Cerati, the necessary atoms got out of order. Finally, the magic happened. I have no proof, but I believe it was the change from the oppressive climate of the port estuary to the sea air of Punta Alta. Hail Neptune. Thanks for reading me; the idea is that you have to bet on second and third chances. Sometimes we condemn a fragrance because we’re in the wrong moment; you have to give it time and find its place. It may fail, but you have to study it!
I didn’t expect it to smell like this; it’s not a wow, but rather for daily wear in the heat to smell good. I always use it, even at school, although it smells odd—like an older lady and roses. It’s my first review, and the truth is I wouldn’t buy it again; it’s not bad, but it’s not for everyone. My sister says it smells like wee, lol. The longevity is good: it projects for 1h30, but on the skin it lasts about 6 hours, so it’s solid. Out of 1 to 10, I’d give it a 7.
What a pity it’s no longer available; I have a couple of bottles I use exclusively for sleeping on hot days after a good shower. Those roses make me feel wonderful lying down, and sometimes I wear it in the morning to wake up with those citrus notes that last for a couple of minutes—it’s almost therapeutic. It’s quite personal, but it doesn’t smell bad to anyone… men tend to notice it (because of the roses) and women perceive it as masculine (due to the patchouli), so it’s a matter of taste. To me, it smells of roses and I love it. 10/10
