  • I use it as part of my daily routine: if a scent is wearable, I use it, period. This adds something different to my rule of smelling different every day; it offers a sweetness that isn’t overpowering, with that oriental and leather note making it elegant yet cheerful. Note: I wouldn’t recommend it in extreme heat as it doesn’t mix well with sweat. If you’re looking for something distinctive, striking, that people will enjoy and compliment, this is it: it lasts a long time, although the trail is moderate (ideal for the office). I also wear Sauvage, Invictus Legend, even Scandal (I live in a moderate climate), and I’m moving towards Kenzo EDT Intense. Enjoy fragrances according to the day’s outfit, however you feel. That is the function of scent: not just to enchant others, but oneself. Cheers.

I was gifted this and, to be honest, I loved it. It has a pleasant, intense scent with medium projection, neither too much nor too little. The longevity is average for a cologne rather than a perfume. It’s very good for winter, autumn, and even spring, but I find it overwhelming for summer. I also think it works well by day or by night.

I received this as a gift three years ago and keep it as a fond memory. It’s ideal for chilly Saturday nights out, but not for everyday wear. In the heat, its sweetness can become overwhelming, making it a very specific fragrance. Cheerful, wearable, and perfect for winter parties. I’d give it 8 out of 10 because the price has dropped, and although the reformulation makes it more linear, it remains effective with its essence. A good option to gift to someone fresh from A-levels heading to university.

Hello! I’m not an expert in perfumes but I use fragrances frequently. In my opinion, it smells enchanting, but prices here in Argentina are high and I expected better longevity and sillage. It’s warm, ideal for autumn, sweet without being cloying, and perfect for the evening.

  • FedericoAlexisB

I struggle to distinguish the notes, I only detect liquor, myrrh, and cashmere; it’s fine for cold weather, but it’s not my favourite. Without a doubt, I prefer Pure XS Night; this one smells more mature and a bit powdery. Final rating 6.5/10.

  • I’ve caught a taste for it. These warm autumnal aromas are simply brilliant. On my skin, the citrus top notes give way to vanilla and cinnamon tones, with a resinous, chocolatey scent from the myrrh standing out. I thought the liquor note would be obvious and put me off, as I’m not a fan of smelling like alcohol, but here it’s just a subtle hint for a playful touch, nothing exaggerated. It could be a signature scent for autumn and winter: suitable for daily wear (though it might get tiring if worn every day) and perfect for going out or a date where you want to make an impression without being overpowering. It has an interesting mysterious-playful edge; I think the myrrh is key. Good potency and longevity, around 8 hours. Price: about 50 euros for 100ml, which isn’t bad at all.

  • It starts citrusy and settles down quickly, smelling like Axe Chocolate Cinnamon straight away – apple and chocolate instantly. The liquor, leather, and vanilla arrive later, blending with the sweetness. The woody cedar lingers in the background, like apple and cinnamon air fresheners, without being intrusive. As it dries down, it becomes woody, slightly generic but spicy and pleasant, managing to keep the opening hour’s aroma. Over time, the wood takes over; I believe it’s cedar throughout. On my skin, it fades quickly, but the sweetness lasts seven hours close to the skin with a touch of chocolatey wood. By nine hours, only a distant, almost imperceptible cedar remains. For evening wear, it could be overwhelming in the heat. The box is lovely; I imagine chocolate instead of the blue suede, with a bottle typical of the XS line – one of my favourites. However, before buying, I’d try similar ones with one or two different notes first.

  • Of all my boyfriend’s collection, this is one of my favourites, alongside Le Male le Parfum and Scandal EDT by JPG (though Pure XS might be number one for the affection I have for it). It has me completely hooked: it’s not overpowering, yet it’s definitely noticeable, with a mysterious vibe that I adore. The best part is it’s not as trendy as other Paco Rabanne scents; in my circle, no one wears it except him. It’s perfect for autumn and winter, though it also works in spring. While it’s ideal for nights out, dates, or events, its citrus opening makes it suitable for everyday wear too. Verdict: a surefire hit 😊

I’ve just bought and tried it; I’d never heard of it before and I really like it. It smells fantastic, or at least it suits my style perfectly. It bears very little resemblance to Invictus Victory, being instead a fresher and more versatile version. I think it’s suitable all year round, so I’ll keep wearing it and will share my final verdict later. Just to give a heads-up, the girls love it 😉

  • If you’re over 30 and looking for something potent for the evening, this is the one for you. It stands apart from the mass-market options and, compared to its competitors, is the best choice: mature and well-balanced. It has good longevity and projection, making it ideal for dates and nights out. You could wear it daily in winter, but I’d recommend alternating scents so it doesn’t become tiresome. Buy blind; it never disappoints.

  • It smells like chocolate deodorant, or straight-up Axe Chocolate, which isn’t bad. However, the cinnamon feels uncomfortable, heavy, and overheated to me, like a mix of sweat, cinnamon, roast meat, and sunscreen. After three hours, it becomes more vanilla-like and pleasant. It resembles Hugo Boss Bottled.

  • It reminds me exactly of what the XS used to smell like years ago; perhaps the puree they added is painless.

  • CarlosMHG23

I could start by talking about its particular scent, which is outside the norm for what we expect from PR. Its citrus, sweet, and woody notes make it a compliment bomb and a seduction tool; when I wear it, I know someone will ask what I’m wearing, and for perfumers, that means a lot. On my skin, it lasts more than 6 hours, invades any space, and if it’s enclosed, even more so. Without a doubt, one of the best fragrances I’ve used.

  • Acquired in March 2024, it lives up to the good reviews: a delicious scent. I don’t find it as nocturnal as expected; it works perfectly during the day. However, the projection and longevity are low; after a while, I can only smell it on the application points, and after a few hours, not even that. It’s true that this transition season brings colds that affect the nose. We’ll see if it works better with maceration and a clear nose, because the scent I love.

  • I think it’s an underrated gem among all the One Million or Scandal options. For a cool night, it’s one of my preferred choices; it performs well and pleases most people. It’s a different scent with that myrrh and that ‘Coca-Cola’ aroma; I certainly love it. With XS Night as well, I lean slightly towards this one for more versatility and a more charming scent, although it loses the great longevity of the Night version.

  • Julian Gil

I’m updating my review again: I confirm everything, it’s a charming, unique scent with personality, plus it performs phenomenally. From the 2022 batch, with 7-8 sprays it lasts 8 to 12 hours and projects strongly for almost the whole day. It has the best of both commercial and niche worlds: caramelised fruity vanilla, wrapped in whisky and a leather base, combined with strong exotic myrrh from the start. A masterpiece. It has a distinctive character and a common facet that everyone likes. It smells a bit like Coca-Cola with incense, which sounds odd but works. I wouldn’t recommend it blindly due to the resinous-incense myrrh, which isn’t for everyone. But if you like it, you’ll love it. It’s my favourite.

  • It has become one of my favourites. The aromatic green notes remind me of 212 VIP Black, but with a warmer, sweeter touch, making it more versatile. I recommend it blindly if you like this style. Note: many people say it smells like Coca-Cola or vanilla, but for me, it’s something else; it seems they can’t distinguish the scents.

  • Paco Rabanne Pure XS is pure seduction and excess. For the bold man, perfect for standing out on special nights. Opens with ginger, thyme, and grapefruit; in the heart, vanilla, leather, and cinnamon warm things up sensually. The base of myrrh, cedar, and sugar adds a woody sweetness. Moderate to high price. Warning: it is intense, so use it with moderation in enclosed spaces or heat. Scent 9/10: spicy, fresh, warm, and sweet. Longevity 9/10: high for all-day wear. Projection 8.5/10: considerable without being overwhelming. Highly recommended, it meets expectations and is a standout choice.

  • santidepanabel

It’s rare to go for the eighth bottle of a fragrance I don’t like, but every time I wear it, the girls say they want to literally ‘bite me’ because I smell so good. I think it’s the only one with that strange characteristic and I’ll definitely keep using it, even though I don’t enjoy it as much and the maturation is moderate.

  • Leonardo Quiroz

A delicious fragrance, spiced with cinnamon and vanilla, soft without being cloying. Lasts around 6-8 hours. Ideal for men over 35.

  • JoseCarlosMC

Well, my signature. I’ll try to be impartial and not let myself be swayed by good memories. I’ve been wearing it daily since 2018 and it remains one of my favourites. Although I don’t smell it on myself as much anymore, I’m convinced it’s one of the ‘hidden gems’ of designer fragrances. Although there are imitations and similar versions, Pure XS maintains unique quality and character. It’s a true ‘compliment bomb’: it attracts praise without being intrusive. The trail is moderate, projecting about a metre, ideal for everyday wear without being excessive. After 40 minutes to an hour, it settles on the skin showing powdery and slightly vanilla notes, a delight for those who get close. It’s versatile, doesn’t go unnoticed but stays subtle. Its composition is no longer novel, but it remains attractive and reliable, perfect for an elegant and captivating aroma.

I just picked up the second bottle from the shop. Simply the best designer fragrance I’ve owned and one of the few I’ve repurchased (alongside Sauvage EDT, ADG Profondo, and JPG Scandal EDT). Coincidentally, it was one of the first I bought when I started exploring perfumes. My first love, super original. Suitable for night and day, with character. Intense and sweet but not cloying, just vanilla and rum. Very good lasting power, moderate projection with bursts of trail for the first hour and a half. Easily my signature scent, though only for very hot climates. In that case, I’d switch to Light Blue or Dior Homme Sport.

  • It used to cost around 2,300-2,700 pesos and was a good investment. Years ago, I picked up a 200ml bottle at that price, and it remains one of my little treasures. Charming, you can’t go wrong with it.

  • IvanPerfumista

According to Curly Fragrance, it smells like Coca-Cola with incense. I can confirm that’s not the case at all. What stands out most is the vanilla, sugar, and some spices. It’s very sweet and quite unisex. It’s not my type; I prefer fresh and masculine scents. 4/10.

  • It smells like Axe Chocolate. Coca-Cola? Yes, but it has nothing special about it. In my opinion, it’s boring. Lasting power is average, around 4-5 hours, with an acceptable trail of 1-2 hours. I give it a 6 because it’s cheap and serves for everyday wear, but there are better options. I wouldn’t buy it again.

  • I bought it and used it a few times. Every time, it overwhelms me; it’s quite intrusive. The myrrh is brutal and clings heavily with the vanilla and sugar, which I didn’t enjoy. However, I respect those who praise it. If you’re not a fan of sweet and potent scents, avoid keeping it in your wardrobe.

  • I bought it on a whim and it has become one of my favourites. Women love it if you pair it with the right outfit. To me, it smells like Coca-Cola with incense, but on skin, it’s a sexy scent.

  • I picked up a 5ml decant of Pure XS and can confirm it’s pure party night. It smells rich and enveloping, though it does get slightly sweet over time. From the start, it screams audacity and seduction; many say it smells like rum and Coca-Cola. You can definitely detect the spicy oriental touch with ginger, vanilla, myrrh, and cinnamon—a warm blend that’s addictive. It projects massively on skin and clothes, leaving a trail and class. So much so that it practically invites you to have a rum. A 10 for going out with friends. I’m already keen to try XS Night to have another nighttime option. Final score: 6.7/10.

  • Jose Espinoza

What a fragrance! It lasts me a long time and after hours I still feel that burst of perfume because I love its scent. Haha. I’ve received compliments, although more with Scandal to be honest, but in my personal taste this is my favourite scent, more than Sauvage or JPG or others I’ve heard are rich too, but this is at the top. First review I’m making and I’ll buy it again soon, but in 150ml.

  • It was my first fragrance. Knowing nothing about perfumes, this convinced me several years ago. Some women react ‘very positively’ to this fragrance, haha. Sweet but not cloying, well spiced with a notable myrrh, 100% masculine scent. FACT: Once you’re told it smells like Coca-Cola, you can’t stop smelling it.

  • A fragrance I have a special affection for and it’s my girlfriend’s favourite. I don’t consider it a great fragrance, but it does leave an exquisite scent and trail. Very sexy, charming and seductive. I find it very versatile and at the same time not intrusive, something that often happens with fragrances of this profile. Ideal for young people; for the price, you rarely find something like this. I’d like to give it a second chance in my 20s, but perhaps I’ll go for the XS to compare. 4.4/5

  • FrankGrance

I bought it blind on a trip taking advantage of a duty free discount. There were no testers, only the bottle. It didn’t disappoint me at all; it has an exquisite myrrh note with a very particular sweetness. It’s quite versatile and its longevity and projection are quite good, though not outrageous. Would I buy it again? Definitely. It’s a fragrance that stands completely out from the ordinary.

  • If you’re looking for a fragrance for dates, this is the ideal one. It’s one of those that easily generates compliments and is easy to like. Something striking is that when I’ve used it, people tell me the scent sticks to their skin or clothes, and even in places, so I see it as ideal for dates.

  • Smells like black pepper and that’s all. The first time I tried it in 2019, it smelled very sweet and incredible. So much so that I gave one to my brother and when he wore it, he said: ‘oh, it smells very seductive’. But he stopped using it and kept it stored for 5 years without using it. And when I tried it again, it smelled very different and I thought: ‘how is it smelling so different? Did it concentrate or did the alcohol make the notes change’. I had the 2018 batch.

  • In my experience I bought it blind and the truth is I didn’t like it. It has a heavy scent; I don’t know which component it is as I’m not an expert in perfumes. But I never liked it when some girl told me she liked the smell. Not me. I wouldn’t buy it again; I bought it in 2017 and I still have almost the whole bottle, 100ml.

  • Daniel Henderson 77

A sweet, seductive fragrance, one that draws attention in a good way. I used it a while ago, back around 2017/18, and it gave excellent results. They say it’s ideal for dates… I’d say not for first dates, perhaps with your partner yes, as it’s quite strong. Very rich, but it is something potent and penetrating. It might be off-putting if you overapply on a first date if you want to keep them close; you’d go for a lighter fragrance for that. Returning to the scent, it’s fantastic, feeling vanilla and spiked, giving it that seductive touch. Cinnamon accompanies it very well. It has excellent longevity on my skin. Although I’m not sure if I’d buy it again (now my 16-year-old son uses it), I think it’s a very good option for cold climates and deserves a try. I recommend it widely.

  • Simple scent: basically whisky, cola and vanilla, with the latter taking centre stage throughout the fragrance’s life. Versatile for day or night in autumn and winter. Lasts around 8 hours with a decent trail. Very rich, plus it’s often found at a great price. Recommended.

  • Perfumoon

Super youthful fragrance, perfect up to age 30, screaming party and night vibes. It’s a vanilla bomb spiked with alcohol, cinnamon and sugar, reminiscent of a cola drink with a sorbet. Ten years ago I hesitated between this and Pure XS Night; I went for the latter as it’s more oriental, with myrrh and ginseng that give it a chocolatey twist, and suits those over 30 in fun, informal settings. Both are very similar. I’m not sure what damage the reformulations have done, but back in its day, the longevity and trail were brutal, typical PR night wear. Obviously, using it outside of cold weather or at night is madness. Easy to like and fair price.
