On Fragrantica, some say it’s a clone of Addict and others claim it has nothing to do with it. I’m in the middle: yes, Premiere tries to resemble Addict, but it’s like its humble brother. It has pros and cons: it’s not as deep, but it is more wearable. It lacks Addict’s presence, but that’s not bad if you don’t want to overwhelm. The opening is spicy; the pepper masks the rest. The mid-phase lasts a short while on me. I notice the hyacinth, but soon I’m left with the base, and what smells most is the sandalwood. While sniffing my wrist, I thought it reminded me of something else, and suddenly Contadiction came to mind. The scents don’t resemble each other, but that note is worked in the same way. One made me think of the other. The longevity isn’t bad, around 6-7 hours. The trail isn’t overpowering; you can feel it for the first two hours, then it stays close to the skin. It could be used all year round, but I keep it for autumn and winter. It’s not a bad fragrance, it doesn’t smell bad, and it surprised me. It’s very far from the original 5th Avenue. I’d never call it a flanker, but (and this is personal) I can’t see myself using it. I bought it blind because the ratings suggested tonka would be dominant, but in my case, it’s the sandalwood. And sandalwood and I don’t get along. It came out less warm and more harsh than I expected, but I think those who like Addict and woody scents with a spicy touch will love it. Very acceptable quality for the price.
I do notice an interesting similarity to Dior Addict. Obviously, it doesn’t last as long, but those 5-6 hours are perfect. I think it’s a very good perfume for the price. Basically: good, beautiful, and cheap.
I wasn’t expecting this at all. I tested it looking for something fresh for spring and initially thought, ‘fresh? not a hint of it.’ I detected tonka, vanilla, and patchouli, all very dense and warm. Fortunately, that phase faded within minutes. Then the lovely part exploded: a floral, balsamic, and woody mix with orchid, hyacinth, sandalwood, and jasmine, with a sweet touch and a little kick from the pepper and tonka. It projects well and is exactly what I need for the upcoming heat. It lasts decently; after 6 hours, it clings nicely to the skin. I’ve already added it to my favourites.
